Ken Ingalls - Packers Cap -   I bet the Packers sign Blake Bortles to the practice squad and activate him on game day instead of signing him to the active roster. This way the Packers will avoid having to pay 35% termination pay when they ditch him after Rodgers & Benkert return.

Then why bother?

If OBJ is released, do we have any interest??

Yes

Hell, No

Maybe, with Conditions.

We cant afford him - but if he wants to play for table scraps in Green Bay - yes.
I think he'd make for a nice add to our offense.

This would remind me of the Andre Rison signing back in the day. OBJ has been a divisive figure in NY and Cleveland. Rison had a similar reputation but for one half a season he clicked in Green Bay. Maybe OBJ could, maybe he wouldn't.

The difference is in '96 we were really banged up at WR. I doubt this happens because we are getting our guys back. Rodgers would love it though.

If OBJ is released and we don't do that, seems dumb. Might not get it, but his whole thing is the qb isn't throwing to him when he's open, which Rodgers would do. Well...he'll probably be staring down 17 for a completion instead of just not throwing the ball, less to complain about.

I think it was Rison who caught the first Favre TD pass in the SB win over New England...Unfortunately he couldn't stay out of trouble after he got out of the game...
