Arthur Penske
wasn’t it Waldo back on the day that Argued once a team loses that badly your Super Bowl hopes are basically over based on precedent?

Chicago is likely taking a QB and a Wr or LT with those first two picks. All the top edge guys will be gone by the 2nd. They have a ton of cap space and will likely be resetting their rookie QB wage scale next season.
ThatJerkDave
I actually like the move for the Bears. They get a player coming into his prime, at 27, for a second round pick. The Bears desperately need pass rush help, which Sweat will provide. And if they believe that he is the guy, there is no reason not to pay him. He currently has 6.5 sacks, and the Bears team has a total of 10 so far on the season. Could they have waited until the offseason to make the move? Perhaps. They did have the money to win any bidding wars. But as had been stated earlier, the Falcons were interested too. Could have played out for them that they were stuck with all the money but only tier 3 or 4 players ended up available, and then they are still left with no pass rush. We'll draft a QB super high and something to help that QB. Have the defense ready for him when he gets here. And we'll be back on track. Add in that they maybe feel that they can trade Fields for a 2nd or 3rd and offset the asset used to acquire Sweat
