Around the NFL II - Even NFLier

They mentioned on NFL network over the weekend that at least one GM had Rosen ahead of Haskins, if he were in this year's draft. It doesn't mean a whole lot, because it could have come from a team not interested in acquiring a QB and has an interest in saying something like that. But Rosen's value has to be considered in the context of the QBs available this offseason. There's Foles, there's Bridgewater (right?), there's CJ Beathard (yeah, I went there), there's a draft class. Johnny Manziel is freshly available as well. Where does Rosen rank? Below Foles, Murray and Haskins? Above Haskins? Below Bridgewater. The fact that he has to be traded for is an inconvenience, but his rookie contract is gold (if you believe in him). He also has value to a team that would draft a QB early in the first in that they may be able to keep that pick and add a great player in the draft.

There's also Tannehill, and maaaaaaaaaaybe Derek Carr.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Raiders, Broncos, and Cardinals "are among the teams who have appeared the most intrigued" in Antonio Brown.

Josh Rosen and a second for Antonio Brown?

Derek Carr and a second for Antonio Brown? Too much money.

The second one is out of the question. You can't pay that much for a backup, and he's too experienced to be a guy you let develop on the bench a few years.

The first one would be surprising, but could definitely work if Steelers believe in his talent. They're still getting #33 in the trade, too. That's incredible value for the two of them. Meanwhile, Cardinals can allow Murray to throw to Brown for a few more prime years. Great way to develop a youngster. Steelers get a 2nd and a QB thought of near universally as one of the top 4 QBs in what was considered a strong first round class. And they control him inexpensively (for a QB) for 4 more years with the option year.

Brown isn't worth a second at this point in time by himself let alone with a young top drafted QB (Or Carr) on top of it. He wants a new contract, all the trouble he's caused and he's on the wrong side of 30.

So Clark/Clowney/Ford/Lawrence all got tagged. Flowers did not.

Justin Houston just got released, clears about 7M for them after you take out the dead money.

Have they tagged Clark? I must have missed that

He's not really a fit for the defense and what we require of our safeties...at least not at the FS spot...but if the team is amenable to shifting their philosophy a little bit to best suit the safeties we have, I wouldn't hate this as he's obviously really, really good.
