lancerman
Has a QB who was a very poor thrower ever developed into a successful QB?
game3525
Quote I remember reading that Baltimore was the worst possible matchup for the Chargers, and it looked that way the last time these teams played. Crazy how things can change. I said after week 17 that wasn't true at all. The worst matchup for them was always Pittsburgh in Heinz Field. Our secondary really doesn't matchup well with their receivers and their o-line can dominate our front 7. The Ravens are a good team and a tough matchup, but their was a lot of recency bias by people saying they were the worst matchup for the Chargers. Gruden's Bucs beating Washington by one point in a shootout, Parcells coaching the Cowboys, the heyday of the Brady/Manning wars. Nice to see some shades of that era this season, if only because of the teams involved.

I think NE/LAC is by far the most exciting matchup there. I think the Saints blow out the Cowboys, Rams and Bears another low scoring game that could go either way, and the Colts/Chiefs could be a fun game but no matter how entertaining that game might be I don’t see the Colts winning. That is a large assumption. Put some respect on it, the defending champs are coming to town.

Not just "improve" but dramatically. The defense of Jackson's throwing ability by some in here is astounding. The guy has not shown consistent ability to throw the ball. Sturggles to read defenses and is extremely erratic with his accuracy. This is coming from someone who liked him coming out. He's literally an RB/WR playing QB atm. This was not an all-in run for his career. I completely agree, but QBs with the flaws that Jackson had coming out always have a huge uphill battle. Not saying it can't happen, but history isn't on his side.

This was not an all-in run for his career. Which has been my point for... well... most of this thread. The Ravens have a (outside of Weddle and a few others) young defense that will keep them in the playoff hunt at minimum for years to come. Unless you're fearing for his health, Lamar is gaining experience (and motivation) from this game that will benefit him in the future. He may pan out, he may not. But when you invest a 1st round pick in a QB, you're more or less making the commitment to not pulling him from important games for poor performance unless he's physically limited/unable to play.
