NFL DRAFT RUMOR THREAD

I do believe there is a small possibly of this happening for two reasons.  One, I believe the Raiders could lowball the crap out of Keim to move up for Bosa if they love him.  Two, you’re still protected if Murray goes 3 and can tell Josh you’re our guy because we passed on him at 1.  Kingsbury could be higher on Murray and still feel confident in Rosen for them to risk it.  Worst case scenario you end up with Ed Oliver and an extra late 1st.

If the Jets take a defensive player at 3 the Cards lose leverage in discussions for Rosen at which point they’d probably take a 2nd.  Again small chance but Keim is capable of outsmarting himself.

Tampa may be enamoured by Bosa or Williams to potentially make a move.

Which would be absolutely stupid when you consider the cost and the real possibility a similarly talented prospect will be available at 5 (Oliver).

Honestly, this class has a stud-ly top five with Bosa, Williams, Allen, Oliver, and Murray.

TB is in pretty good shape for that reason. However could the difference between Allen and Bosa be worth the 27th pick for Oakland?

Great question. If I were Oakland, I wouldn't move up at all. They traded Khalil Mack for two firsts because they had more holes to fill. If they use two firsts on an EDGE, I don't like the move as much. Yes, they were able to afford an elite talent like Antonio Brown (due to salary cap) because they got rid of Mack. However, that third round pick wasn't part of the Mack deal if I remember correctly. I would take Allen. I love his speed and athleticism, upside, character, production, shows the potential for a very large variety of moves, versatility to keep opponents guessing, can work in all three phases of defense. Yes, Bosa is bigger as a 4-3 DE with good punch, power, looks very refined, but A) I don't see the upside that I see with Josh Allen, and B) he's bigger, but he's not massively larger than Allen. I would rate him ahead of Allen in the Raiders' scheme, but not by that much. I DO think it would not be as good of a move to go defensive tackle as far as filling the holes goes, just because they have a fantastic space-eater in the middle in Johnathan Hankins, with Hurst as a stud-ly interior DL as well, not even counting PJ Hall. Get an EDGE across from Arden Key with a high first, maybe another EDGE to challenge him for snaps. The only caveat is that talent is talent, so obviously neither QWill or Oliver would be a bad move.

Anyone have an idea what his track record is like?

@N4L

for what hat it’s worth, Dave Te Thomas spewed a bunch of rumours back in 2017. He was something like 1/20. Here were his  calls:

  • Giants trade up to #19(TB)

  • Cam Robinson to the Ravens at #16

  • Denver & Miami looking OL

  • Saints take Engram(2nd round)

  • Saints take a corner at #11(NO)(Conley, Lattimore, or Humphrey)

  • Atlanta trading up to #26(SEA) for Jordan Willis

  • Dallas move up to the teens for Obi

  • Obi to Raiders if Dallas doesn't move up

  • Cincy and Carolina want to move to #2(SF) for Fournette

  • If Carolina trades up SF would take McCaffrey or Thomas at #8

  • Samson Ebukam could be a day 3 Bruce Irvin

  • Bolles first OL off the board, possible at #20(DEN)

  • Cleveland trading up to #5(TEN) for Trubisky

  • Titans take M. Williams at #12 if they trade with Cleveland

  • Bears may go DL at #3 and address DBs in later rounds

  • 49ers may like Barnett more than Thomas

  • Adams could fall to the Jets

  • Titans will trade both #5 & #18 to acquire a slew of second round picks + 2018 picks

  • Pick #18(TEN) could be Kizer if TEN trades the pick

  • if TEN keeps #18 they will take Njoku

  • Jets take a Buckeye if they don't get Adams. Would be Hooker or Lattimore

  • Dolphins want Barnett

  • Jets could slide down to take Obi

  • Raiders want Watt or Bowser if Obi goes before them. If they are fine they want Jarrad Davis

  • Raiders take Mixon in round 2

  • Bengals take Foster or Barnett if they fail to trade up for Fournette. This would likely see Foster go to Miami or Washington

  • Peppers to Pittsburgh or Tennessee

Yeah, if you think Murray is a franchise QB you just take him

Absolutely agree but if he’s willing to risk it, technically it could pay off big especially if Q and Bosa are perceived as the obvious top-2 bc SF would almost have to take whoever isnt picked #1. Its very risky but the stars have aligned pretty well with this one so far bc it seems as if those 2 are a tier above the rest

49ers should shock the world and take Murray.
