Had any of us known - 14 years ago - that he cared more about being a celebrity than a football player, you certainly would have.

But, if you want to harp on that stuff, how’d that world beating savior, Vince Young, turn out? Oh yeah, he was a bust, too. Just as I said he’d be.

Vince busted because he was an alcoholic, not because he couldnt read a defense.

If you have some magical ability to see when celebrities wont cope with being famous...... Well there is a lot of GMs that will hire you

Vince busted because he sucked and couldn’t understand an NFL playbook. Don’t kid yourself. The moment he was asked to play something other than the zone read, he crapped the bed and failed. Just like every other zone read guy.

You put Vince on a competent team, with a real staff and a supporting cast that doesnt let him drink away his future and he will succeed. The dude had all the talent in the world.

If Vince was that mentally weak then he wasnt capable of leading a team regardless of coaching. And any good or great coach would see that.

Vince did try, but he needed too much coaching and the Titans at the time just didnt have the coaching to give it to him.

The NFL landscape doesn’t allow for QBs to develop anymore. The days of Steve McNair riding the bench for 2 years before becoming the full time starter are long gone, which places many QBs at a serious professional disadvantage. Look no further than Marcus Mariota. He never developed as a player.

Vince had all the physical Talent but the mental makeup that it takes to be a quarterback he didn't necessarily have. Ask for blaming a coaches about letting him drink doesn't make sense what if he went home drank all night with no one really knowing how much he did. Woke up the next morning couldn't memorize any plays and people thought he was just dumb

I can’t believe Sean Peyton isn’t riding the hot hand, and is playing drew brees

unreal

I think it’s at least worth speculating what Romo could’ve done in the playoffs that year, but there is no chance whatsoever his body would’ve lasted till then had we inserted him into the lineup mid-season. This is a bad comp
