Correct. It's somewhat standard "coachspeak" to both accept some blame but (more likely IMO) shield / absolve the players and not throw them under the bus publicly.

Kinda, yeah.  What I wonder more is will MLF get over his sub-servitude attitude towards his mentors and be his own man, instead of standing in their damn shadow?  He might need time to grow into his role, and to get past this admiration thing.  He can respect these guys all he wants, but at some point he needs to grow an attitude of "I will be better than them at my job."  He needs time, which is not exactly what this team needs right now.

To be fair... did anyone think Gb would be in the position of top 3 teams in the conference at the being of the year? Winning changes expectations quickly... I think everyone was going to give him time... until it was like “oh we are one of the better teams, we need to win a super bowl!!!!”

For those who care.  @Outpost31

Based on the current play from Rodgers, I am not seeing him playing in GB with that 2022 cap hit of $37M

Think we might have 2 more years, so looking for the successor should be approaching here soon.

All of this is true.  I'm just responding to his comments at the presser, and his seemingly little boy crush of Shanahan and McVay.  He needs to acknowledge their role in his life and evolve, grow, and mature - which I'm sure he will - but that takes time - something we don't have a lot of actually.

Heck, we only have 10 more years on the planet after that. Is that enough time to get another QB before everything is either flooded or on fire? I'm concerned!

Is there a worse kick/punt returner in the league than Smith?

I don't even think it's necessarily Smith, he's had success elsewhere. I wouldn't categorize him as good but I don't think anyone is going to succeed under Mennenga. We should be able to fall forward into positive return yardage, I'd say there's some poor coaching going on here.

Debatable whether stating that GB was out coached is  a better look than

"going to work on pad level"

"going to get that cleared up"

" need to focus on the fundamentals"

"need to stack success"

He's damned if he says they were out coached, he's damned if he doesn't say it.  He just has to choose which way he wants it.

Unhappy fans want to criticize.  That is just the way it is.

I’m crazy disappointed in the defense seemingly regressing as the season goes on.

Also... I get Adams is back but why are we ignore Jones again? He has 2 games with 3 or more tds.

This team is soooo confusing.

Are we ignoring Jones, or is the defense taking him away?

At this point, if any team not tanking is putting in a game plan accounts for him.

The problem is people have been saying this about Rodgers after nearly every marquee game of the last three seasons.  When was the last time Rodgers played well in a high profile match-up against a good defense?

probably Dallas playoff game.  That wasn't a good defense per se, but that was a really high profile game against a very competent defense.

It used to be that teams were afraid to actually play the run, so mediocre to really poor RBs and mediocre to poor run blocking could result in decent games.

Teams now play the run, and the packers do not make them pay whatsoever.

This one got away from them really really quickly, but there needs to be way more counter-punches to the running attack which is what led this team to 8 wins in the first place (outside of that one Rodgers game).

Rodgers not trusting Graham or Allison or anyone over the middle is a huge issue.  That's how you get defenses back to playing the packers honest - right now it seems they want to stuff the run and are giving up the intermediate-deep middle of the field on running downs.

Play action team that doesn't throw over the middle when they bait the LBs up remains a bizarre *** concept to me.

I mean, MLF used to love the deep dig route in Tennessee.  It's one of the main concepts they ran, but maybe that was because Mariota liked the concept.

Seems like a Rodgers thing to me.

When finley used to run the slant/flat with jennings et al, every once in a while he would run that angle route and come back for a quick hitter moving up the field rather than across it.  I haven't seen rodgers attempt that throw in a long time.
