When a once mighty and proud football empire crumbled and became the biggest laughingstock in the league. That is what will happen to this franchise when Rodgers leaves. Thelonebillsfan
Piss off your franchise QB who you can't get rid of until 2022 to take a crappy project QB's brehs.

This board's obsession with Love is as weird as PFF's obsession with Evan Mathis. Edited April 24, 2020 by Elky
joru1000
Is laughable. And the Packers fans pulling the mental gymnastics to defend it, even more so. Like, at least Browns and Texans fans get pissed at their FO's when they make moronic moves. But yeah, Love is a heck of a reach and on top of that they traded up for him. Why? Who was going to jump them for Love at the end of Round 1? Rodgers is guaranteed until 2022. By then they'll have 2 more chances to draft a superior QB, who didn't throw 17 picks in a bad conference, or God knows who becomes available by then. Just an awful pick to make an awful situation that didn't exist 3 hours ago. Edited April 24, 2020 by joru1000

Good thing the Packers value more than just the 2019 tape and actually put a lot of value in their entire evaluation process including the 2018 tape (which was extremely good). We aren't defending it because we're incapable of admitting when our Front Office has made a mistake. We're defending it because we're optimistic about a prospect who has talent but needs development and could potentially be the heir apparent to our current QB. There's a huge difference between the Texan fans getting pissed about trading away Nuk for pennies and the Packers fans not being pissed off that we drafted a QB in the 1st. Want to know what that difference is? Here, I'll educate you. WE KNOW WHAT NUK IS, we don't have a clue what Love is, we just know what he could be! Optimism for your team is never a bad thing. Try it sometime. Edited April 24, 2020 by Nick_gb
Nabbs4u
Somewhere Brett Favre's smiling and saying, "ain't karma a ..... Aaron"? The fact Rodgers has been put in the same exact scenario as Brett only ARod is actually a year older ,is beyond ironic. 🍺 Edited April 24, 2020 by Nabbs4u

Plenty of teams have a need for a QB. Green Bay did what they felt they had to do. I'm not enamored with the pick, but guys much smarter than you and I felt it was the right move. FWIW, Love likely doesn't have to play a down for Green Bay any time soon for this move to pay dividends. If it lights a fire under Rodgers you-know-what, that goes a hell of lot further to closing the gap with SF than any player at 30 would've.
Hunter2_1
I'm sure Aaron is thinking to himself something along the lines of 'this kid is crap, I'm the man, he's not taking my job'. But that's exactly why he's been drafted..... Interesting.
MossyMoss
Didn't Rodgers say he wants to play till 40? Head scratcher for me, since they were one game away from the super bowl last year, I would have thought building on that instead of finding a heir apparent for Rodgers would be top priority. Well it's the opportunity cost TBF. You gave up a 4th rounder AND you gave up whichever non-QB you'd have drafted. IMO, Rodgers has two years left in GB now maximum. Love needs to start by his 3rd year so that they can evaluate whether to put the option on him or not. I expect GB will end up trading him to an AFC team who wants a 2-3 year "all in" run ala Denver 2012-2015/Tampa Bay now. Early candidates to trade for ARod in 2022: Pittsburgh (post Ben) Jacksonville Indy (post Rivers) Las Vegas
CP3MVP
Love is terrible. I thought we moved past the era of he has a big arm but sucks at the most important things we ask from a QB like decision making and accuracy but apparently not. SBLIII
we have really have no idea if Jordan Love is another Mahomes or just a bust. Or anything in between. He could be great or aweful. Nobody knows. As for the Packers, they see that Rodgers is not going to be able to carry them to a Lombardi for much longer if any longer at all especially not on a huge caphit and are ready to move on after 2021. So 2 years of Rodgers then Love.
