viper952
It wasnt quite like the small conference room days but not far off. To me the event has gotten too over the top. I wish it would go back to what it was in New York. It was perfect Edited April 28, 2020 by viper952

It was perfect I enjoy the normal event, hosting in different cities---not to mention the revenue and exposure it brings to those cities. Plus, it makes the event (especially the 1st round) seem bigger and more exciting like every team is drafting their next All-Pro. As far as the broadcast, the instant reaction and coverage of each player that came with the original format was FAR superior to whatever we just watched. The in-depth coverage and discussion was just better and far more smooth when it came to each pick than it was with the virtual format. In the end, the change of pace wasnt bad at all for what the circumstances were, but give me the normal format all day every day that felt like more of a 'event'
Hunter2_1
Yeah, minus the desperate highlighting of players' worst moments in their life. Otherwise, it was good.
Ty21
This draft format was ideal. I would’ve otherwise had to google the fate of 255 prospect’s dads

Nope dad died of suicide when he was 14....... Just focus on the football.

I agree with this, it was over the top. Have the players tell you about their biggest moments during their college career, or biggest influence in their lives. I think they need to open the options of storylines to cover.

And some of it was way beyond /the line of decency. Calling out Higgins' mom as an addict was an example, but there were others.
Johnny Nix
While I was happy it still happened, the coverage was terrible. I was actually quite bored, it got better as the draft went on but the 1st round was pretty bad.
DannyB
Putting aside specific complaints about this year's presentation (the misery porn, Goodell having the charisma of a jar of mayo), I actually liked the general setup and execution. I would love if they tinkered with what didn't work all that great, but kept the idea.

SkippyX
I would only change one thing. The On The Clock section with the next 3 picks in the lower left should include CURRENT PICK: at the top. Show me the name of the person who was just drafted, please! Its super annoying in rounds 4-7 when picks are flying fast.
lavar703
Just go back to the way it was. Beginning of April. Saturday and Sunday. All day event.

The people watching after the 1st round are draft junkies. I want to here a pick and than Mel Kiper. That's it. This draft they did that until they brought on this country singing that sang a song for ever. They say 55 million watched. Well I'll guess 99% them went to the bathroom, got something to eat, made a drink or went out for a smoke during that song !!!
candyman93
For me, ESPN always tries to do too much. Keeping it simple this year was nice. I think going forward, they will do rounds 1-3 how they used to, and after that it will be like how the virtual draft was.
