Mr Bad Example
5 hours ago, MacReady said: I love wasting a scammer’s time. The best one I ever had was I spent an hour on the phone with someone with an Indian accent regarding the virus that was detected on my PC. After an hour I spent making sure he had the right person and the right PC I said, “Wait a second, I only have a Mac.” He paused for a second and then said, “You are a mother****er,” and then hung up. That was over ten years ago now. I don’t have that kind of time anymore. I once had someone call me saying there is some strange activity detected on my account and they were going to suspend my social security number... I thought " that doesn't sound right" so I kept them on the phone while I did a couple of minutes of research and then submit it all the info I was able to get from them to the secret service, and then told them exactly what I had just done. I don't think they cursed at me. They just hung up. But then a few days later someone with a similar accent (or possibly the same guy) called up with the exact same scam. This time I chuckled and said "oh tell me all about it" and he hung up right away

Now I regret I didn't waste her time like some of the others in this thread have done.

incognito_man
The Riley Strain situation sucks the more details you find out. What a tragic situation. A series of unfortunate events it seems.

Sorry to see that. The buffets lost their appeal around 2007. I blame the poker's rise in popularity. More demand usually means that a product gets cheaper and drops in quality in some areas and in this case the buffets suffer. More people coming to Vegas to get schooled by the pro's means more people pigging out at the cheap buffets because they probably can't afford a nice sit-down. More people at the buffets means a drop in quality given how fast and efficient the cook staff has to become - corners get cut. wgbeethree
I'm pretty sure I've said this before but Vegas is the most overrated city I've ever been to. The weather sucks. Casinos are everywhere. The music venues are generic yet overpriced. The food scene is fine but there isn't a specialty or anything you can't get better in another city. It's not cheap or easy to get around. There's literally nothing that town does that is special or world-class anymore other than being the biggest collection of tourist traps in the world. 2/10 would not recommend.

I feel that any place you visit, you get out of it what you put in. When I was in college, we went to the Sun Bowl. All I heard leading up to it was how much El Paso sucked. We had a blast. First night we went to a Mexican restaurant. After the game, we hit up a big steak house in New Mexico. We made friends with locals and other bowl game attendees all weekend. We went into it thinking we were going to enjoy it, so we did. If I had a negative attitude I might have hated it. Is it a hot spot? No, not really. But I would go back again, if I had a reason to.

Just kidding you! Like I said, depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to go to the Eifel Tower, Missouri is not a good place.
