RuskieTitan
Catching this Star Wars film this weekend. Heard from coworkers that at least this time they didn't directly rip the script from a prior movie in the franchise, so that's progress.

devils1854
Didnt see this in theaters because frankly, Christopher Nolan has become overrated because of all his fanboys thinking that every movie he puts out is a masterpiece. I had my doubts with Dunkrik with people saying there is a major lack of character development in the movie. About halfway through the movie, I was kinda iffy, but I got to give Nolan credit. He brought things together quite well in the third act. Great tension throughout it. I will say that the score is very heavy handed, and was out of place in a lot of spots, but overall I thought it was a good movie. It wont make my top 5 for the year, but I still enjoyed it. Tetsujin
I finally got around to watching The Shawshank Redemption last night.
cddolphin
Baby Driver was one of three films I watched on my flight back to the states (alongside the new Mummy and The Fifth Element) and it was easily the best of the three. Fifth Element is extremely overrated, must be a cult film or something. Baby Driver: 4/5 stars The Mummy: 1.5 / 5 stars (terrible, god-awful film) The Fifth Element: 3/5 stars

I missed it in theatres as well but watched it last night. I enjoyed the land, sea & air narratives interweaving with a splash of nonlinear storytelling. Most war films try so hard to showcase heroism but this pretty much does the opposite. The air combat sequences were extraordinary and made me wish I had seen it in IMAX. Agreed about the score. Some parts were beautiful and then other parts had stabs drowned in sound FX in post. I think they were going for tension but frankly it was just annoying. Of course, Tom Hardy gets the most badass role. For all the backlash over Ed Sheeran being in GoT, Harry Styles was actually pretty good in this. Edited December 22, 2017 by thrILL! Adrenaline_Flux
So, uhh, the new Jumanji is amazing. Absolutely hilarious movie. I just got home and I know I'm still on like that movie high you get after seeing a good movie (especially for the first time)... but my initial impression is that it might be better than the first one. Good to read this. I tried defending the trailer here when it first came out. I really appreciate how they tried to do something new with a reboot, and I have a lot of faith in The Rock's ABILITY as a comedic actor. I'm more amazed by this than anything. How'd you imagine to avoid it all this time? It's one of those movies that's always on TV. Good movie nonetheless. Kids want Christmas movies, so it's a Home Alone weekend here...
RamRod
Bright Not as terrible as some of the reviews. Not something I would have gone out to the theater for, but worth a watch if you've got Netflix.
