Not to toot my own horn, but I was pretty adamant predraft that Taylor was a pretty average back. He never looked like someone who could create his own yards.

This seems to be a recurring theme from those Wisconsin RBs... Is the Wisconsin system just so good that it works no matter who is back there?

Well yes, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t talented backs that come outta there. Taylor and Gordon would have been superstar RBs at any college.

Yeah, I mean - that's fair, I get that. It's just that there are some guys that look better than they are out of there.

James Robinson is a flat out stud. Davon Hamilton has come on super strong the past 5-6 weeks prior to his injury this week. Has the looks of a damn good run stopper with a great get off that may bring something to the pass rush too. Daniel Thomas took over the SS spot for a few weeks and looked like a solid young player. May have something there as well.

Hendo and Shenault have had a lot of flashes/look to be promising as well. Hendo may be done for the season though.

Chris Claybrooks looked like a depth corner and great ST/Gunner. Nice find in the 7th.

Chaisson has been flat out bad. Really think our scheme is doing him no favors but you'd hope for a flash here and there.

The rest are either too raw or haven't seen the field much really.

Update on the Falcons rookies:

1 - AJ Terrell - he's been a beast on the outside. Don't go off of the raw passer rating allowed numbers. Dude rarely gets targeted and when he does, he makes the tackle right after the catch... if they catch it.

2 - Marlon Davidson - Not seen a lot of time, but had a great game this past week

3 - Matt Hennessy - incomplete - lost the LG job to James Carpenter in camp (which is fine because he wasn't supposed to win it anyway), and then has been backup C since the third week of the year

4 - Jaylinn HAwkins - Been very solid on ST and good depth at S so far.

4 - Mykal Walker - starting SLB for the Falcons this year. Been impressive in limited snaps as a pass rusher and in coverage, but needs to improve run fits

7 - Sterling Hofrichter - he's a punter. good holder though

tbh it's because we had two really successful, fat college RBs in Ron Dayne and John Clay, the stereotype developed. It's got about as much validity to it as the old stereotype that Nick Saban DBs don't do well in the NFL.

Our OL heavily regressed over the decade and is just now coming back, but because Joe Thomas was the best OT in the NFL for the past decade no one talked about it. And then Ryan Ramczyk transferred in and was a first round pick the day he stepped on the practice field, which also made us look better than we were. The OL we've put in the draft the past few years like Beau Beanschergagrwal (fun fact that's actually how you spell his name) were such a huge step down from the guys we were sending back in the 2000's.

Likely. That and the seemingly unrelenting production of quality OL talent.

Watch Nakia Watson and Jalen Bergers respective film this year and let me know if you can't see the difference.

Bills:

AJ Epenesa - buried on a deep line and doesn’t play special teams. Apparently underwhelmed at camp. Inactive week 1.

Zack Moss - tough runner and hard to bring down. Didn’t get going against the Jets but had a TD reception.

Gabrial Davis - Bills 4th WR and the designated “blocking WR”. Looks good in short playing time so far.

Jake Fromm - 3rd on the depth chart. Will be Inactive every week.

Tyler Bass - had a rough start missing first two field goals but still went 5-7 on opening day including Extra points.

Isiah Hodgins - on IR

Dand Jackson - Practice squad.

Update after week 12:

AJ Epenesa: Has definitely started to come into his own as a run defender. Shows good strength and a nice bull rush when rushing the QB. Has made it so Trent Murphy can be inactive.

Zach Moss: dealt with a lingering injury but since being back has shown the aggressive hard nose running Bills fans expected. Tough guy to bring down.

Gabe Davis: Continued his hype from TC and has had some big games and big plays this season. Could be an X factor down the stretch with John Brown on IR.

Jake Fromm: Same as before.

Tyler Bass: Has hit 10 of his last 11 with the only miss being a 61 yard try. Proven to be very clutch lately and over the rookie jitters  from the earlier in the season.

Isaiah Hodgins: Same as before.

Dane Jackson: With the injuries Buffalo has had at Corner he got his shot and did not disappoint. Played very well against Arizona. Looks to be a good run defender too. Should be a very good CB2 or 3 moving forward.

Good or bad?

Berger has quick feet and RB vision. Watson doesn't and plays pinball off his blockers. I wish I was exaggerating. And the guy was a 4* recruit in college, it's not like he's a walk on.

It's night and day. Go back to Jonathan Taylor's freshman year when he wasn't the starter and watch that film too. Or go back and read the Badger fans posts on this website from then - we saw it the first game that it was a completely different running game with him in.

Chiefs

1.32 RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire Louisiana State - Now over 1000 yards from scrimmage, but not doing as well as the first eight games. He was Pro-Bowl worthy for a while. La'Veon Bell has something to do with that.

2.31 LB Willie Gay Jr Mississippi State - Not exactly a disappointment, but not picking it up as fast as most would like.

3.32 OL Lucas Niang Texas Christian - Redshirt

4.32 CB L'Jarius Sneed Louisiana Tech - Now the clear CB3, replacing Rashad Fenton. His taking over the slot CB role has allowed Tyrann Mathieu to freelance. Great pick.

5.32 LB Michael Danna Michigan - He's their best run DE not named Clark. Not bad as a pass rusher, but comes out for a specialist in leveraged situations. Going to start

7.23 CB Thakarius "BoPete" Keyes Tulane - Mostly ST

UDFA DT Tershawn "Turk" Wharton Missouri-Rolla - Fully in the DT rotation.  Best interior rusher not named Chris.

Clyde is going to be good, but the league has adjusted to him. Gay is OK and that's about it. Niang is out for COVID, hence the redshirt tag.

The real story of this draft is after #100. Sneed is basically a starter. Danna and Wharton are fully in the rotation and may be future starters. Keyes it's too soo to tell.
