The Buccaneers could be getting a big piece back on their defensive line for the NFC Championship Game.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Bucs are designating defensive tackle Vita Vea for return from injured reserve. Vea can practice with the team on Wednesday and could be added to the active roster for Sunday’s game in Green Bay.

Big piece for the Bucs if he can come back.

EDIT: Rephrased the title to make it clearer

Because it's a fracture, it's pretty easy to say he's ready to play after X weeks.  This is a normal time frame.

What's more in question, is how much game shape he's in.  It's good he's been running for a while now.

If he can play 20-25 plays at 80+ percent capacity or better - wow, it's a game-changer for sure.

AB being out sucks, but Vea & Ronald Jones in - is a big plus for TAM.     That D was near-elite when he was disrupting.  The CB's are still their weakness, but if he has even a modest impact, it's a huge game changer for how that D works.
