its still somewhat early for me... april is when i have my most fun going through cutups.

but from guys who i've seen fall to 17 in some mocks here and there:

1) Micah Parsons - i think he's in the "too good to pass up" tier regardless of position
2) Azeez Ojulari - my favorite edge player so far. Yannick is only on a 2 year deal. Ojulari has enough functional strength to play on the other side, too.
3) Christian Darrisaw - some uncertainty about him moving to right but he's a dominant athlete at the position with good technical ability as well
4) Jaelan Phillips - i like him significantly more than Rousseau. does everything well
5) Teven Jenkins - has played RT, is just a nasty mauler.

honorable mentions: Veta-Tucker, Moehrig (trade down senario)

He hasn't played in a year and is meh in coverage. And he'd be playing in a scheme where he'd be almost playing exclusively in coverage because Bradley doesn't blitz.

So very difficult this year as we're at 17 and who knows who falls unexpectedly and who makes a late rise up draft boards. We say this most years but a trade down to get more picks in rounds 2 to 3 which seem to be a bit of a sweet spot for our needs may be the best move.........

Especially considering that our two biggest immediate needs are RT and FS.

You don't need premium picks to fill these spots.

If we stay put at #17, and take a safety, that is clearly not an Ed Reed or Derwin level prospect, it'll be clear Mayock and Gruden are just gonna fall in love with guys, and take them wherever they want.

At 17 there will be-it seems-really nice EDGE, LB, CB, and OT prospects, and maybe WR.

All more important than a decent S prospect.  So either take the better player, at the more important position, or trade down for a premium.

1. Micah Parsons | MLB | Penn State

2. Caleb Farley | CB | Virginia Tech. - man if he drops, I'll be all over that. He's big, physical, man on man corner. His back will be fine just can't workout right now, he is even physical enough to be a FS.

3. Azeez Ojulari | Edge | Georgia

4. Jaelan Phillips | Edge | Miami (FL)

5. Christian Darrisaw | OT | Virginia Tech

6. Alijah Veta-Tucker | OL | USC or Zaven Collins | LB |

I listed 6 because those top 2 have to dip, who knows if they will be. I would be happy with any of these guys.
