Zach Wilson decision looks bad now and Darnold looks like a gamer

Darnold is 2-0 with a better organization. I feel bad for Zach Wilson. He don’t deserve this. Hopefully the Jets can put him in position to succeed. Right now it’s too early to tell but I’m happy for Darnold bc I was a believer in him coming out and him finding quick success with a more stable organization is great.

Reminder that Wilson plays for the Jets.

Reminder that last year Herbert went 26-53 for 200 yards, 0 tds and 2 ints against the pats in a 45-0 loss.

Reminder that rookie QBs are something like 1-14 in their last 15 against BB

26 of 53 isn’t 4 Ints

It's still early.  Darnold has looked very impressive, but still made a couple of risky throws today included one boneheaded mistake that resulted in an interception.

What he is showing though is that he can develop into a upper-level QB (top 12 range).  He's got the guys around him to succeed.  Just needs to keep getting better and better.

Jets are just gonna have to get better. Wilson in all likelihood will not have a very good season.  Hard to expect much out of him given the lack of talent around him.  I thought he looked okay-ish in Week 1 but he did look inaccurate on some shows.

Honestly, the Jets have already managed the situation very poorly by first not signing or trading for a veteran QB, and then by giving Wilson the starting job right out of the gate. They should have anticipated that there would be an adjustment period, just based on the fact that he didn't really face high-level competition in college (and played relatively poorly against the best opponent he faced in 2020). They had a chance to bring in Tyrod Taylor, Andy Dalton, or Minshew, or retain Flacco to provide Wilson with tutelage, or a backstop in case he was behind the curve. But now here they are with him as the anointed starter, and his top backup being a guy who's never taken an NFL snap.

Good stuff.

He'll get better and grow. It's no big deal.

jrry, I think that if he murdered people he would be in jail.

This is New England. Belichick is above the law there.

As others stated, it was the second game of his career had he had the misfortune of going up against the GOAT HC.  People need to give these young guys a little time to acclimate to a new league and new level of play.  Wilson is a good player and he should be fine.  The Jets are rebuilding and it is going to take a little time to put some more talent around their QB.
