For perspective, Keenum is probably the best backup QB in the NFL (arguable but close), and let's look at his last full year as a starter in the NFL in 2018: 62.3% completion, 3,890 yards, 18 TD, 15 INT and an 81.2 QB Rating ...those really aren't much better than Baker's AWFUL 2019 season (his 2nd year) when he threw for 3,827 with 22 TD and 21 INT and completed 59.4% of his passes with a 78.8 QB rating. Assuming that you take the mean of his career, and even project what he does this year (while he's playing with a dislocated shoulder no less), he's projected to finish with this on a 16 game schedule (to keep it consistent by not adding the extra game) 3,931 yards with a 67% completion rate, 16 TD and 8 INT and 97.8 QB Rating (His career mean QB Rating is a 90 on the dot and the last two seasons his INT rate is a 1.65% with around a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio) So, with respect to the talking heads like Cowherd and Burleson, Case Keenum at 100% is not better than Baker at 60%, albeit I'm really glad that we have Case as a backup. Let's also pretend that the Seahawks roster minus QB is even close to the Browns. The difference in OL and run game, as well as personnel on defense, is staggering. And that works for Seattle - because Wilson is great and better than Baker will ever be. But their roster is what it is in part because he makes what he makes.
