The Browns offense and defenses are the worst nightmare matchup scenario for New England.

NE's defensive strength is adaptability, disguise, and personnel versatility; however,  their personnel is generally older, plodding athletes lacking in high level playmaking ability.

Their defensive success is fueled by 3 high level playmakers in Matthew Judon, Adrian Phillips, and JC Jackson; however, Jackson and Phillips are highly susceptible to explosive plays b/c of their aggressive playstyles. They also have two high variance playmakers (i.e., high highs and the lowest lows) in Ja'Whaun Bentley and Kyle Duggar. Depending on the game Bentley and Duggar are GOATs in a good way or NE fans want them cut the next day.

NE spreads its cheeks whenever facing an effective multidimensional running attack. They don't adjust well when an offensive attack is versatile via the run and pass. Their line doesn't generate push and easily gets mauled in the run game against skilled RBs. They are also one of the most susceptible teams on seam and vertical routes b/c of the lack of pass rush and the their DBs being caught with bad eyes.

Assuming the Browns are healthy, Nick Chubb and the rushing attack are going to slice through that defense like paper and grind them into bits. NE's defense can't match up with the TEs and speed the Browns have on the field. Njoku and Demetric Felton screens could easily be house calls.

For all the quality of game management and smart decision making of Mac Jones, his lack of mobility and panic throws under pressure mean this is a game where Myles and the pass rush spreads NE cheeks in a wild way b/c their Tackles are not close to the quality of players as their interior OL players. Justin Herron and Isaiah Wynn spread cheeks often and haven't faced a dual pass rush combo like Myles and Jadaveon. Their personnel isn't vertical/explosive play threats so guys like JJ3 should feast with underneath disruption. NE has a versatile screen game with TEs, RBs, and WRs, but the Browns should be able to dominate from start to finish.

NE will get down early and have to take deeper drops leading to Myles having a 2.5 to 3 sack day.

Browns offense gets wild early; defense gets wild early. Defense takes it foot off the gas and let's NE makes some plays down the stretch to make the game look a lot closer than it ever was.

I'm not sure why some people have NE having a real chance to win this game assuming both sides stay healthy.

This is going to be a blowout though it's possible that the score to be closer in the end due to garbage points by NE.

Browns 35, NE, 12

Greg Newsome II with his first INT.

Nick Chubb goes over 120 yards on the ground

Team sacks = 6 sacks

Baker TD:INT = 4:1

Schwartz is catching a deep vert beating Adrian Phillips over the top.

Demetric Felton houses a screen.

If Ward can stay healthy down the stretch, pay him and just go ahead and pay Teller. Send the message that you're rewarded for playing elite football here. Re-sign Njoku and restructure Hooper, otherwise send him somewhere else and eat a portion of his salary.

See where the dust settles and cut Juice and re-sign Baker to whatever deal he proves to be worth down the stretch.

Are you of the opinion that if Baker plays well the rest of the season that Andrew Berry and co. will most likely get a deal done this offseason? Or do you think regardless of Baker playing well they still take the Dak Prescott and Cowboys route and wait for as much data to come in next season before deciding to either franchise or extend Baker (Dak played well also but he was not extended until later)?

I think that largely depends upon the team and offensive success and how consistent he is vs. good to elite defenses. Do they make the playoffs? Does Baker continue to improve and play well? Does he regress? Does the team make a run and make the playoffs? Does he definitively display elite traits and games and the defense doesn't do their end? etc.

Don't underestimate the refs.

Prediction: Browns rightfully 35-12, adjusted to 35-24 due to refs.

Probably another flag from the play before right as they break the huddle.

Then Romo has to apologize because he said NY called the refs

Exactly, why do people think the Pats are going to magically learn how to stop the run this week? They are giving up 108yards on the ground per game this season. Guess what, the browns will be the best offensive line and best RB they have seen all year.

It's probably because we are top 10 in average yard per carry (4.1) against, and only given up 5 TDs on the ground. So whilst it's 108 per game, it's mostly due to bulk carries. Maybe teams want to run the ball because our pass D forces the 2nd worst passer rating in the league so far.

Problem with that though is a) we haven't faced a ground attack like Cleveland and I do predict you'll run on us fairly well (we do have a lot of bulk on that line now though), and b) we have faced some awful passers...
