As evidenced by Green Bay, QB talent trumps all and I refuse to believe that Seattle is that dumb of a franchise to let some friction end it all/side with the old coach. Now is there a strong likelyhood that they overreacted to a perceived decline and tried to sell high? Yes, but my guess is that they do think he's on a downward trajectory.
