adamq
I assume this one is fine to bring a 7 year old to? Don't want him to see any brutal death scenes like that Dr Strange movie had

Coming right out of the movie you yourself only provided a theory as to what matters. The fact that both you and I don't know for certain if anything does is pretty sad. Especially when this was hyped as the most important movie since Endgame. I don't feel sad. I feel excited for the next chapter of the story. Quote You're overstating the exposition dump too. You could explain all of it in one sentence. You can say that about almost anything. Edited February 19, 2023 by TecmoSuperJoe

It's not as gruesome as Dr. Strange 2 was.

If things change down the line, I will happily admit to being wrong. However, based on everything we know right now, what I said was correct. Spoiler I believe somewhere Feige said this is like THE Kang. There will be more, but this is the one who’s going to be back in Kang Dynasty

But could be a bit scary with the weirdness and battles.

They also counted the Thursday previews twice for the Friday total. Every other Box Office site (TheNumbers, BoxOfficePro, Deadline, etc.) has it correct at $225 million. BOM is not run well anymore. seminoles1
The Domestic opening will probably end up being a little higher than $105 million anyways. Disney is underselling Sunday (they have a tendency to do that).

vegas492
No real film critic here, but here are my thoughts after watching it. I enjoyed it, but it was a pretty "meh" movie. It was like a cross between Star Wars New Hope and Avatar. I didn't like all the CGI, but I get why it needed to be. Just felt forced. And it seemed like most of the movie was an extension of the Cantina Scene from Star Wars. Bill Murray was there...and not developed by a backstory at all. There was history there with Janet, but not explored at all. The only thing I really liked? Kang. I liked the character. Cassie was a forced character. Hope was criminally under used. But, it was entertaining, I did enjoy myself, but it was not a "good" movie. Like others, I feel like the best of the MCU is in the past. kingseanjohn
I'm going to see it this Thursday. Is there anything other than Loki and the first two Ant Mans that I should re-watch prior to going?

Some endgame references but not enough for a full rewatch
NcFinest9erFan
Well I don't think it was as bad as critics made it to be. Thought it was fine.
August4th
more I think about this, the more it reminds me of rick and morty. You could easily swap ant-man and his family with Rick's family and not see much of a difference. The R&M writer they hired for this is also writing Kang dynasty.
