The Jets just make perfect sense.

-Ownership and fanbase who is starved for the playoffs.

-Top defense

-Abundance of weapons

23 1st this year+23 2nd+24 conditional 2nd next year that turns into a 1st depending on playtime+Zach Wilson

Packers agree to take on Rodgers bonus to a tune of 60m in exchange for 2nd this year and making the 2nd next year conditional. We bite the bullet hard next year clearing the books and see what we have in Love. If he's not the answer, try to rehab Zach Wilson and move forward.

Zach Wilson is Josh Rosen 2.0.

I assume we're getting an additional pick from them to take Wilson as well?

Plus, the large cap hit they'd have to absorb by moving him.

Full disclosure, I'm intrigued by Wilson, but he's got to grow up fast. His time is running out.

I am not intrigued by him whatsoever. I am the opposite. I wouldn't allow him in our locker room even if we got a first round pick to do it.

He's an absolute turd.

They only have three weeks to get into the Carr sweepstakes. Do you think the Packers would really consider sending AR to Tampa?

No.  But I also don't think Tampa has the cap flexibility to absorb Rodgers' contract without taking away from their core players.

I think because if he is released, he isn't sniffing the money that he is owed on his current deal.

Heard Pat Kirwan talk about that on the radio yesterday.

Derek Carr isn't going to be hurting for money if he hits the FA market.  He'd be the best available QB by far since Geno Smith is likely to be franchise tagged assuming they can't agree to a long-term deal.  He's easily getting $30M+/year on the open market.
