That was NOT the right call. Was across the goal line with nobody touching. Ball CAN move when crossing the goal line. It's dead as soon as it touches the first centimeter of the white line.

If this was the playoffs IMO it'd go down as a Top 2-3 screwjob of all time.

He had ball on the ground and the lunge towards goalline imo is a football move... TD

Same as the Dez incompletion. Lunging in the air is the same as falling. And once that process starts you need to maintain control all the way down

Do you personally agree that that should be the rule?

If he had been touched immediately prior to getting up and stretching the ball out, would that not have been a catch and down by contact regardless if he was going to the ground? The officials basically determined that him catching it, willfully getting up and reaching out all constituted the one motion of him trying to catch the ball.

You could take some of your own advice. Once a player has the ball and makes a football move, it's a catch. The ball hitting the ground and subsequently moving happened after this. This was simply the incorrect call.

Lunging while falling is not a football move.. and there is a precedent for that.

ftr if you're wondering why people think you're a **** and then turn around and comment

"hurhur it is so funni 2 see all of the salteeeeee fans hurhurhurhur"

then you shouldn't be questioning it much longer

because regardless of what your opinion is here you should be able to agree IF the call was the correct call then that's a horrendous rule that makes precisely zero sense

What about Rams fans? Vikings fans? You know a fan of every team out there is disagreeing with the call. What's the excuse you have for those fans?

Or you know fans of other teams agreeing with the call even if we recognize New England is always on the right side of these things. Try again sweetie.

I saw no replay indicating that.

He had the right hand underneath it, has the ball bobbled.

But even if you consider the replay inconclusive, you have to go with the call on the field!

The fact that they overturned it it's even more ridiculous.

Except he absolutely did not catch the ball then make a football rule.

Like several ex NFL refs have explained, if you're coming down in the air, you have to complete it before you can make a football move.

THe NFL has made it this way to take away risk of ref bias or judgment calls.  It's black and white.  He clearly did not catch the ball THEN make a football move.  He tried to make a football move WHILE catching the ball and it came out in the process.  Clear as day no catch.  It's not even close.

Correct
