Cleveland Guardians Thread: CHEAP OWNERSHIP = No Hitting

Our starting pitching and bullpen is more than good enough to get us into the playoffs and compete. That’s incredibly encouraging when you compare us to other teams.

However, we easily have the worst offense out of every playoff team. If our bats get hot, I’d take us versus anybody.

We’ve only given up 105 runs this year. The team with the fewest? Cardinals at 103 and they’ve played 9 less games than us. Keep in mind we also face some of the best offenses in all of baseball Chicago + Minnesota. If our offense was as good as our pitching + defense this would be the GOAT team.

Playoff seeding is irrelevant this year without any real home field advantage. Just get to the playoffs and hope the offense gets lucky.

Thats it. Hope you get "lucky".

But think about 2017 how well we were hitting heading into the playoffs. It is only a matter of time before some of these bats wake up, and lets hope that happens for the playoffs. Because this team does have enough to play with anyone. Really think with one more bat to replace DeShields in the lineup, we would have been in a really good spot. Marte would have been ideal.

But, get in the playoffs, and we have as good a shot as almost anyone in the AL to make it back to the WS

Nah. He’s one of those guys you just gotta ride it out with. Don’t screw with his confidence we know he’s good enough to figure it out.

also Santana worst months in his career are April/March. His best month is usually July. So if you adjust things because of this season. Santana should pick it up and start hitting his stride right around the playoffs. So not surprised of his poor play at the moment

JRam has had a very slow start but he still has the 11th best WAR for positional players.

Bieber has a #1 WAR for pitchers at 2.3. next best pitcher is 1.8. Civale is 14th with 1.2

Bieber has the 2nd overall WAR right behind Tatis Jr. who has a WAR of 2.6
