But Hurst's condition is not from an infection.  This puts him at a much higher risk of heart related issues including sudden cardiac death.  Couple years ago a basketball player discovered a heart condition and was forced to retire.  Basketball is a little more sensitive because of gathers but these types of situations the league might want to step in depending on the diagnosis and how severe it is.  Funny Ravens are allowed to void a contract based upon an old ankle injury but the league does nothing about a potentially deadly condition.

He was cleared in college and cleared by the NFL the only one who thinks it's a deadly condition is you.

Your making assumptions though because we don't know the diagnoses. The fact that it's the same thing that he had as a freshman and played all four years with no issues should be a marker. It's something for the team to research but they aren't gonna put him out there with a high risk condition.

Him playing all four years does not matter.  There is a reason that every team passed on him for 4 whole rounds and who knows how much further if we do not draft him.  They had already announced that a lot of teams had him completely off their boards.  They are not going to removed a player for a heart condition like supra ventricular tachycardia that is not as serious.  What his diagnosis shows is something serious and dangerous and him having it for four years shows it is here to stay for him.

I think you're probably right and it will be really interesting to hear both him and our FO explain how they feel about it. Let's just hope they have a medical report with a positive outlook and they're right. If they are and he can play for us....what a massive difference he could make to us by being a genuine threat and helping Mack too.

They announced the Raiders had him off the board too. So grain of salt.

First punter, Michael Dickson, is off board to Seahawks. Raiders worked him out. A possible Plan B? JK Scott of Alabama. Worth selection on own merit. Added storyline: his agent, Alexa Stabler, is Raiders icon Ken Stabler's daughter.

would people be happy with Kahlil McKenzie in the 6th or 7th?

Nah.

No real room for a DT now, no real reason to burn a pick on a scholarship. P, K, ST player, HB/TE, ILB, OLB, RB, WR, S. We could still throw a pick at any of those positions and we only have 3 picks. He can come here undrafted if he likes.

Heart conditions are very unpredictable.  One doctor will get positive result then 15 minutes later a negative unless it is structural.  Wish I knew the actual diagnosis.  The article NightTrain gave states Star and Nick Fairley.  2 different situations so it is a very clouded situation but I hope we got a great player and more importantly that the kid is healthy.  I am excited to get a player that good in the 5th but I am concerned because from the article it seems like he is only hearing what he wants to hear to protect his dream.

Him playing four year does matter because the team checked him out and let him play four year anyway after extensive work ups for multiple doctors. You can fearmonger if you want but we got a great player that has proven that even with this condition, whatever it may be, he can still play with out issue and produce at a high level. College cleared him and the NFL cleared him. I'm fine with the only official org not clearing him being "Dr. Frey"
