NCOUGHMAN
https://heavy.com/sports/2019/12/raiders-richie-incognito-losing-streak/ good read from mr rich Rich - “On offense, we just bogged down,” he said, via The Washington Post. “Three-and-outs, our Achilles’ heel. When we’re going three-and-out and not picking up first downs and going down and scoring points, it’s tough. The offense put the defense and the rest of the team in a tough position to start that second half, and they just exploded on us.” The defense had a terrible game, but the offense didn’t help them much. Short drives didn’t give the defense time to rest and they clearly didn’t have any answers for Ryan Tannehill.” Edited December 12, 2019 by NCOUGHMAN

Eli Manning is bad. These are guys that are complete liabilities on your team. Carr isn’t a liability to me, he’s certainly not a weapon. Now the larger point i was making is that yes you can get to playoffs with an “elite” QB/Offense but if you lack a defense to go with it you aren’t going to win a super bowl. That’s the goal, not playoffs but a super bowl trophy. This is why Brady has 6 rings and why HOF guys like Wilson, Brees and Rodgers all only have one. This team absolutely lacks the talent to win a Super Bowl or even reach playoffs. I see very little point in cutting Carr only to sign a guy for 4-6 mill less than him. It’s a lateral move at best that has minimal savings. This team would still be in the same place from a QB standpoint. Cutting Carr and relying on a rookie would almost be worse due to Gruden’s overly complex scheme. Plus passing on better prospects in the draft to reach on a QB is never a good idea and where the Raiders will be picking odds are that they’ll be out of reach for either Burrow or Tua. Is it really a lateral move if you get a QB who makes the small plays Carr constantly misses?

Is practice making Derek Carr miss wide open receivers? He's a 6-year veteran and one of the higher paid QB's in the league.
SilverNBlackFan
Carr is a RB and TE guy. He has failed to establish any kind of chemistry with any WR in his career, outside of Crabs and that was very short lived. He just doesn't get the ball to his receivers consistently enough. Doesn't stand in there long enough to let plays downfield develop. Lacks confidence in his arm to make contested throws, very rarely throws somebody open, loses trust in receivers too fast. If I was a WR I wouldn't want to play with Carr. He really had the world thinking Amari Cooper was a scrub because he wouldn't throw him the ball.
CaribouLou
Makes sense as to why carr is a rb/te guy cause they run the shortest routes, and throwing to a WR 15-30+ yards downfield would require him actually hanging in the pocket for 4 seconds without crumbling like a nature valley cookie and/or running into a sack. He saw his brother get obliterated by sacks and watched it ruin his career and now hes just as scared to get hit too.
FilmJunkie
Carr is a great guy but he needs to be replaced. Time for Gruden to draft Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, or even Jake Fromm

NCOUGHMAN
I’m curious how many think carr is a “franchise “ qb?

You can see his disappointment through his body language. Vegas should help us with bringing in free agents, but will guys want to play with Carr? Guys talk about these things and spend a lot of time on social media. They're seeing many of the same clips that we are. The music is fitting but made me laugh at the same time

You do realize you’re taking the sides of WRs who’s own team didn’t want them over a pro bowl quarterback. Humble_Beast
Zay Jones was traded by a team who needs WRs and in the playoff hunt. If he was worth a darn they would not have traded him Trevor Davis- was seeing a lot of snaps out of desperation. He’s already cut Williams- he’s an nfl player, but overrated because of his height. He has good long speed and size and that’s about it. Chargers let him walk as soon as he hit the market hunter renfrow - was our best wideout. A rookie 5th round pick, who is undersized and not a burner lol.
