Casuals will see Zion if the Pelicans are good with playoff success...just like casuals see Giannis and the Bucks, KD/Westbrook in OKC, Lebron in Cleveland, ect.

Rebuilding is hard...if they go that route. And people really haven't seen Giannis much until this season (just one example). And then you take branding into account etc etc. Much more marketable to put Zion in a different jersey. But NBA has a vested interest in New Orleans I guess after saving the team. Still just kind of sad to see Zion go to NO after we just lost AD there for 8 years or whatever. And Zion may not be better than AD but he is a MUCH more exciting and marketable star

If all you need to do is disrupt his platform slightly to make him unable to shoot, he's a bad shooter.

He's not going to get set looks in the NBA when teams know that. His TS% was bad and he is an ABYSMAL FT shooter for a guy who's going to need to be able to hit at minimum 75% to be an effective scorer early on.

You act like guys can't improve, his form isn't broken and he was good in catch and shoot situations. Either way, he's the 3rd best prospect in the draft.

I'm one of the minority who basically think Ja and RJ are equal prospects. But both have serious flaws and aren't locks to even be good players.

People ignore the fact that Ja was getting toasted defensively against the easiest schedule in NCAAB, has turnover issues, and is a streaky shooter.

They need to do whatever they can to convince AD to stay. Zion's going to waste the first half of his career playing there if he bounces.

It also helps that this class is pretty freaking terrible outside of a few players.

This class is all-time terrible even with Zion. He's far from a guarantee in his own right.

I guess it depends on what you mean by guarantee. In terms of generating buzz and increasing attendance/profits, he's already a huge win. And his playing style lends itself to consistent airtime, e.g. Sports Center, House of Highlights, etc. So you're getting that at the very least. At a bare minimum you have the modern day Shawn Kemp without all the baggage. Best case, you have some hybrid combination of Charles Barkley and LeBron James. That's is arguably better than any prospect, outside of maybe Ben Simmons, in the past 4 drafts.

Colin Cowherd just said on the radio that Zion hasn't signed an agent and should threaten to go back to Duke for another year if the Pelicans don't trade him.

This is dumb.  A TON of people last night on social media and even on Fox, ESPN, etc were saying that Zion looked disgusted when the Pelicans got the #1 overall pick.  Him not wanting to go to New Orleans, demanding a trade and/or trying to go back to school are all stupid.

When you have a 3 hour radio show, that last hour must truly be the hardest to work a segment in on a day like today.

Here's what you could cover from a hot take standpoint:

*Last night's GSW blowout was a demoralizing blow to KD's legacy

*Why Tiger will/will not repeat his Major success starting tomorrow...just take a hardline stance

*How to fix MLB (always a favorite on a slow day)

*Draft Lottery...Insert LOL at the Knicks for 15 minutes...then a solid 75 minutes to other Draft Lottery related talk
