Here’s the great debate......

dinner is at noon, supper is at 6.

I see that you are either from the deep south, or 70 plus years old.

I made some baked beans and slaw this weekend.  Beans were good, slaw was ok.

Lol I am actually from the most far north state, but a farming family, and in my 20’s

breakfast at 6 am

lunch at 9:30 am

dinner at noon

lunch at 3:30 pm

supper at 6 pm

Breakfast

Dinner/Supper

That is the proper convention.

Quote

Dinner usually refers to the largest and most formal meal of the day, which today for most people is eaten in the evening. Historically the largest meal used to be eaten around noon, and called dinner

So you used to be correct.  But unless you're eating your big meal at noon (weird), dinner for you is now in the evening.

Actually many local farms in the area really do.

And typically on weekends after church typically is always the biggest meal.

Maybe that’s just a rural gig.

and I guess I don’t really agree with lunch being at noon, never like the term. I consider lunch where everyone stops for 15 min, has a snack and a pop or whatever they have and head back to work.
