The jury is still very much out on whether any of the WR's not names Adams are worth a damn.  Everything is projection at this point, and none of the candidates have especially high draft pedigree. I'll hope for the best, but I sure won't be shocked to be heading into next off-season with WR near the top of the draft need list.

I still think WR is going to be on the FA radar next year. This year was all about loading up our depleted defense. Don't forget Gute made a push for Allen Robinson, so he was all for the idea of pairing another big name with Adams. Depending on who's available in 2020, I think you could see us make that type of move next offseason.

2020 is another real good WR draft (I count 6 guys who could be 1st round picks- Jeudy, Higgins, Lamb, Shenault are likely locks.)  It wouldn't be surprising to me if they attack the offensive positions next year like they attacked the defense this year.

I would be very shocked if they did that. So far Gute seems all about the premiums, just like Thompson.

Gosh, we’re so young at WR, can we play at least half of this season before we start signing or drafting WR’s next year?  Some young guys look pretty good right now.

I'm not the coach or QB, so they may have very different plays and usage in mind.  But as nice as Shepherd has looked as a receiver, I just don't see where MLF would play him any snaps, or where he'd be a particularly effective ST gunner or whatever?  Put him on PS.  *IF* Davis gets injured and you need a backup punt-return guy, call him up then.  But we don't really need to burn a roster spot on a backup return specialist.

If Davis gets hurt, then you can get through the rest of that game, and activate Shepherd for the following week.  So he can basically provide Davis-insurance from the PS.

The risk that you'll lose him if you expose him to practice squad is insignificant.

If the Packers front office was concerned about having a fleet of JAGs, they would grabbed one in FA or the draft
That they didn't should have been a huge clue

New HC coming in, new offense. The front office will get him the tools he needs to succeed -  just like they did on defense
But they invested in the OL,  both in FA and in the draft
They drafted a TE, they drafted an RB

No WRs were acquired

Front office not being concerned does not mean the WR group is loaded.

GB front office is not immune to being wrong on player assessment

Would you apply those same criteria to the posters here denouncing the WR group ?
Opinions vary, but some are worth more than others

from Warren Sharp

Spending nights collecting personnel groups of new OCs this preseason.

Matt LaFleur on early downs:
50% - 11 Personnel    [44% Pass, 56% Run]
25% - 12 Personnel    [48% Pass, 52% Run]
25% - 21 Personnel    [35% Pass, 65% Run]

Last yr, GB used 11 pers on 72% early downs (68% pass)

That run/pass % on is gross, but fingers crossed that's sans Aaron Rodgers numbers.

Love the personnel groupings. Not a fan of the McVay 90%+ 11 personnel or even Mac's 75% (though it did work). I understand 11 personnel is probably the most efficient personnel but I think the 50-60% range is good there. I like attacking defenses using variation. Attack all blades of grass at every level of the field and with multiple groupings of personnel.

I might be alone on a rock here, but I was kind of expecting more reps/production for MVS this preseason. I know he's penciled in as a starter, but still. I saw G-Mo get plenty of action, but can't say the same for young Marquez.

MVS has gotten 8 snaps this preseason.
