From what I've heard, the Giants are planning on locking him up, which I think is a great idea. His stock has never been lower. We are buying low and hoping we get a great deal. Giants need all the defensive talent they can get their hands on, and you've got to appreciate building inside out by solidifying the lines. I just wish we could make a similar deal for an OT. animaltested Posted October 28, 2019 Share Posted October 28, 2019 (edited) taking a guess here, Jets were not going to resign him, so flip him for a 4th round pick in 2020, instead of avoiding signing DL FA in 2020 and getting a 2021 3rd round comp pick. The rumors I've heard right along with this trade is that the Giants plan to lock him up. If they don't, I agree, the trade seems strange. At best, you'd be trading a 2020 3rd for a 2021 3rd and 8 games of Leonard Williams on a 2-6 team. Hopefully they do lock him up long term while his value is the lowest it has been.
