kingseanjohn
Going to be quite a bit of recency bias I think... QB: Patrick Mahomes RB: Jamaal Charles RB: Priest Holmes WR: Tyreek Hill WR: Otis Taylor TE: Tony Gonzalez LT: Willie Roaf LG: Brian Waters C: Tim Grunhard RG: Will Shields RT: Mitchell Schwartz DE: Derrick Thomas DT: Chris Jones DT: Buck Buchanan DE: Jared Allen LB: Derrick Johnson LB: Willie Lanier LB: Bobby Bell CB: Albert Lewis FS: Deron Cherry SS: Eric Berry CB: Emmitt Thomas K: Jan Stenerud P: Dustin Colquitt HC: Andy Reid Didn't turn out as expected. A couple DE/LB arguments could be made. I'd also almost argue Kelce over Gonzalez. He's on pace to have better stats all around. But it's just a pace and Tony is in the HOF already so he wins. Tugboat
For the Jaguars it's probably something like: QB: Mark Brunell. RB: Fred Taylor. RB: Maurice Jones-Drew. WR: Jimmy Smith. WR: Keenan McCardell. TE: Marcedes Lewis. LT: Tony Boselli. LG: Vince Manuwai. C: Brad Meester. RG: Uche Nwaneri. RT: Leon Searcy. DE: Tony Brackens/Calais Campbell. DT: John Henderson. DT: Marcus Stroud. DE: Yan Ngakoue. LB: Kevin Hardy. LB: Paul Posluszny. LB: Daryl Smith/Telvin Smith. CB: Rashean Mathis. FS: Tashaun Gipson. SS: Donovin Darius. CB: Jalen Ramsey. K: Josh Scobee the GOAT. P: Bryan Anger (actually better than Russell Wilson, because he can be a weapon that tips field position you see). HC: Tom Coughlin (though it feels yucky to list it, after the way he's tarnished his reputation in Jacksonville almost irreparably). Jack Del Rio as DC i guess. I've probably missed or forgotten something obvious somewhere, but this is what i'd go with. It's surprisingly not that bad as a team really. Considering the lack of success for the team overall. But it's also super bleak, how much it's focused around the earlier eras of the Jaguars. There isn't a single current Jaguar who belongs on this list at all (save for Ngakoue, who is obviously on his way out). Maybe Josh Allen has a shot at cracking this list sometime down the line...but it's mostly just an exercise in reminiscing and recalling the past. Tyrer could also go over Roaf depending on how we want to weigh peak versus tenure.) DE: Derrick Thomas (3-4 OLB, close enough) DT: Buck Buchanan DT: Neil Smith (3-4 DE, close enough) DE: Tamba Hali (an argument could be made for many, here. Jerry Mays, Art Still, Jared Allen, Justin Houston) LB: Derrick Johnson LB: Willie Lanier LB: Bobby Bell CB: Emmitt Thomas FS: Deron Cherry SS: Johnny Robinson (probably more FS in style, but long enough ago that listed position is borderline irrelevant. If we want to get picky, throw Robinson at FS and Berry at SS.) CB: Albert Lewis K: Jan Stenerud P: Dustin Colquitt HC: Andy Reid Not far off what @kingseanjohn had. Just some differences on the DL, and SS. Can't blame him on any of the choices though. Allen and Berry are personal favorites that it's hard to leave off in lieu of guys from way back. Will be interesting to see how long some of our current guys last and where legacies end up. Host of current guys could take a place on this list with enough time and success. For the longest time, any KC all-time team was basically the late 60s to early 70s roster, with the early 2000s OL, and a couple other guys sprinkled in. Nice to be adding recent names with recent successes.
notthatbluestuff
QB: Peyton Manning RB: Lenny Moore RB: Edgerrin James WR: Marvin Harrison WR: Reggie Wayne TE: John Mackey LT: Tarik Glenn LG: Jim Parker C: Jeff Saturday RG: Quenton Nelson RT: Ryan Diem DE: Dwight Freeney DT: Gino Marchetti DT: Art Donovan DE: Robert Mathis LB: **** Szymanski LB: Mike Curtis LB: Ted Hendricks CB: Bobby Boyd FS: Andy Nelson SS: Bob Sanders CB: Vontae Davis K: Adam Vinatieri P: Chris Gardocki HC: Tony Dungy These kinds of lists are always hard because you want to mention too many players at one spot. I could have gone for Dickerson and Faulk at RB. Also had to do some shuffling on the offensive line because I just think Quenton Nelson has to be there even though he usually plays LG. Colts don't really have an abundance of great RGs in particular that I can think of. Edit: poor Szymanski had his first name bleeped.
