Week 14 - Rams vs Patriots - TNF

Recommended Posts

What a great game. The only negative for me was that Goff's accuracy was a little off, but he did much better in his decision making and progressing through his reads quickly. As long as he can keep that up so that the turnovers are limited, our running game and defense will be hard to beat.

Also, Mcvay called a fantastic game. Love those two QB sneaks on 4th.

Rams are -6.5 favorites at home. I feel fairly confident that we can contain Cam Newton and the focus will be on stopping Damien Harris and limiting any splash plays on ST.

Belicheck had a good recipe for McVay's offense in the SuperBowl, but let's see if we go more 12 personnel to counter that.

I'm interested to see if Akers get's the start and see's a bulk of the carries for a change. He's starting to pop and McVay admittedly likes to ride the hot hand. Also, with no clear cut #1 option at WR, it would be interesting to see if Staley moves Ramsey around the field more in a blitzing or center fielder capacity allowing him to cheat a little.

Rams win 24-10

Damn, I was close. 24-3 final. No TD given up at all. Akers got a bulk of the carries as I had hoped and he delivered in a big way.

I've been one of the more critical people of Goff, but that pick was pretty fluky. I actually thought it should of been a Woods catch and down by contact, but I'm a homer. We played great defense and ran the ball effectively. Goff managed the game well enough. I'm learning to temper my expectations to that level with him.

Let's get excited, guys. We're a REAL contender. We can beat anyone (not named SF or Miami) in the league.

There's little thing to learn from this victory...it's not like we beat a top 5 team yesterday.

I thought Bill will throw a good blitzling defense but they can't even stop the running game.

Yesterday was the weakest team we played this season.

I do agree, but they aren’t a Team to take lightly. Obviously half the team opted out before the season and I think what they’ve done with what they have is REALLY impressive. I don’t think anyone on here is thinking we just beat a playoff team or a contender.. but it was a game we should have dominated and did. Rams fans deserved a little extra celebration for this one after not beating them since 01. They tend to play well against good teams and play bad vs bad teams this year. BB can still make teams look foolish and simply out coach them. We didn’t beat the chiefs.. but we did what we had to do. I think most of us knew we should destroy them and predicted closer scores because of BB and BB only.

Can we ban this guy? It's not entertaining anymore.

Goodness I am obsessed with QB sneaks. The numbers support it.

Good game all around. I too want to step on throats, but no point in doing it when the Pats can't do jack. Also 34-0 so...

Can we pretty please line up AD on the goal line... just once... pleeeease

Every game the Rams win you learn little to nothing.

Belichick is a mastermind and he was doing this year what Tomlin was doing with the Steelers last year and didnt the Steelers beat the Rams? Yes. You crapped all over the Rams team too. So while I get it that the Pats arent whom we know, they still are well-coached and get the most out of their players.

The Rams wouldve played the weakest team this season if they had Bill O'Brien as their head coach. He cant even coach Watson right. He got rid of Hopkins because apparently he couldnt even coach him. So yes if the Pats didnt have Belichick I would agree but they did have Belichick, he knows how to scheme up a great defense with a great secondary and most people thought the game would be a close low scoring game but it wasnt. Rams dominated.

I think what gets you is once again the Rams have shown they have another tool in their tool belt to win. Last week Goff dominated the Cards. This week Akers dominated the Patriots. A few weeks ago Kupp and Woods dominated the Bucs. Week 1 against the Cowboys it was Brown. Week 2 against the Eagles it was Higbee. Against Washington it was Henderson and the defense. Against the Bears it was the defense plus Hekker. So like the Rams showing they have so many tools in their tool belt to win that for you its always the same thing. The opponent isnt really that good to begin with. Lets call a spade a spade. The Rams beat the breaks off of the Pats who just won 4 out of their last 5 including a 45-0 beat down over the Chargers in the same stadium. Thats who the Rams just dominated. The Rams made the Pats look that bad because the Pats didnt look that bad against the Seahawks, Cards, Bills, Ravens, Raiders, Dolphins, or Chargers. They just look that bad against the Rams. Rams made them look like the weakest team on their schedule.
