Jalen Ramsey allowed 20 yards a game... Let me repeat that, 20 yards a game and 2 Touchdowns. Those are Deion Sanders numbers but he did those in 2020. People get facinated with a non-existent/fake arbitrary stat of "Passer Rating Against" but the reality is both Ramsey and Alexander were better than Howard (allowing half the yardage and scores)... Howard just had a lot of interceptions.

The bolded is extremely impressive.

You heard me. The Colts don't have near the coverage the Rams have, and Buckner MADE their pass rush consisting of average guys look really damn good only rushing 4 and revived Xavier Rhodes career.

The Rams finished with the #1 defense in PPG Allowed and YPG Allowed. Outside of Aaron Donald, name the Rams' pass rushers. Yes, our secondary is great. But Donald is the key to the front seven. We have played most of the year with our two backup ILBs (at a position that was already our weakest). One of our edge spots has been manned mostly by a guy the Broncos cut (Justin Hollins). Our other edge spot has been manned by Leonard Floyd. Floyd is a great run defender and quite good in coverage, but prior to playing with Donald, he was always considered a mediocre pass rusher. And our other DLs aren't known for their pass rushing. I wish I could find the video of the sack (against the Seahawks, I believe) where one of our rushers (maybe Floyd) came through untouched because Aaron Donald drew three Seattle OLs. That play perfectly encapsulates his impact. He was the most impactful defender in the league this year.

EDIT: Also, don't the Colts have Justin Houston? I feel like the Colts' secondary pass rushers are every bit as good (if not better) than the Rams'.

Interesting that the opinion of a guy who's livelihood is based on watching/grading OL play had such a different take on who should be All-Pro

Wirfs was robbed....   he played 900+ snaps gave up 1 sack and 10 pressures.    All the while going against some of the top pass rushers in the league 🙃

I can see the argument for Sanders over Tucker (Tucker missed a FG from 30-39 this year, while Sanders had 2 misses from 40-49 and was perfect in XP's while Tucker missed one), but damn it just feels weird knowing that Tucker is objectively the best K in the NFL and it's not close and he still has trouble making it 1st-Team All-Pro every year because it seems like there's always some random kicker who has a great single year.

EDIT: Also, another year where someone misses the Pro Bowl and makes 1st-Team All-Pro (DeForest Buckner).

I think you are understating Sanders. He is hardly some random kicker. Sanders has flawless alignment and mechanics. That's why he hits the same ball flight every time. It is shocking when the ball doesn't start at perfect trajectory and direction. Slight draw. There is no question Sanders' ball flight is more consistent and ideal than Tucker, who can get into a habit of coming across the ball causing a left to right path that is hardly ideal and reduces margin for error. Tucker gets away with it because he understands his path and compensates via aim.

I spent 24 years wagering on sports in Las Vegas. Man to man wagering was the apex and a nightly event. Bragging rights and big dollars. One thing we did constantly was wager on field goals. But it had nothing to do with make or miss. We would wager left of center or right of center. One guy would call it ahead of time based on all the known variables like wind direction and angle and tendencies of the kicker and watching the guy line up. The other guy had mere seconds to agree or oppose. We would alternate kick after kick toward who called it first, and there could be many games in play. Keep in mind we were in crammed sportsbooks watching perhaps a dozen games on the monitors, at least on college football Saturdays.

The correct percentage was phenomenal. Often a dozen or more consecutive correct. Tourists who would witness were amazed. Once in a while the call was not only which side but a direct miss, "Like a shouted "Way left.'"

Then when it went way left the tourist would say, "How the hell did you know that?" That is most often college games where some kickers can have absolutely brutal alignment, especially from one far hash or the other.

Very basic handicapping once you get the hang of it. It's all alignment and mechanics. The commonality was that guys who had a golf background were very good at the forecast because knowing and noticing alignment and swing plane are fundamental.

This is solid info

I'd still argue that 9 turnovers is worth more than the ~350 incremental yards and 2 TDs allowed

wait seriously why did cole beasley make second team hahahaha!! Is somebody pulling a funny?

How are there FIVE on the second team? Was it a three way tie? So did each of the receivers in the 3 way tie get one vote apiece? Did the Buffalo writer throw in a Beasley vote for that? That is absurd.

Yeah interceptions are the sexy stat at the position. The other two were better at covering statistically but 1 pick per 71 targets and 80 targets vs. 1 pick per 10 targets is a huge difference on the stat sheet and in the game.
