That lack of character would have shown anywhere. Loved Ruggs as a player, but he deserves to rot for 50 years. 0 sympathy for going 150 drunk. I agree, zero excuses but being in "Vegas" had something to do with it and may contribute to other mistakes by players. What happened can happen anywhere but I feel like young players, living in Vegas, in their early 20's that are millionaires, the odds of bad things happening given their surrounding are increased. What percentage I don't know but the Vegas lifestyle is completely different from than hills of Oakland or Danville. Being around the lights and glitz with tons of money easily could have contributed for him making a completely foolish decision that he may not have made had he lived in a different city. This is a stretch because no place in the world is better than Manhattan if you have money but the Jets and Giants players are just fine.
OnlyGlove
Right now I'm on the Ed Dodds train of thought. Let him pick the head coach. Maybe Patrick Graham as head coach.

Maybe 15-20 years ago when there was a good night club scene it was kinda close to LV and Miami but both of those places are 10x better to live and offer 20x more chances to put yourself in a bad situation IMO. Who wants to be out late at night in NYC in the winter? It’s freezing cold and windy. Where as Miami and LV have great weather near year round. plus most giants and jets players live in the suburbs and not NYC.

Great Mark Davis is now making personnel decisions. So much for the hands off approach. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse LOL

Let's stop giving Vic the benefit of the doubt on this. He's just guessing like he always does. But, I generally agree with the sentiment that the Carr decision should be made as early as possible. I would want a GM to tell me up front what his plans are at the QB position. Extending Carr likely means savings in 2022 and a $30-$35 million contract 23-25. That is going to mean a lot in FA.
agarcia34
Raiders better hope things continue to go south in Pittsburgh and for some reason Tomlin walks. Raiders need a strong minded coach like Tomlin who can turn the BS that surrounds this franchise and the players in the franchise.

Would be all over that if it was possible, but he’s in one of the safest Head Coaching positions in the league and I can’t imagine he’ll walk any time soon. Will get a chance to rebuild that offense post-Ben.

True, but I categorize Vegas and New Orleans much the same. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE New Orleans and it's why I've made it home. But it's a transit city people come to specifically to, at the very least, tow the line of acting a fool. Bourbon St, 24/7 bars, a "it's a party" atmosphere We get a ton of tourists, especially college folk, and they're not here studying cuisine or history lol. They're coming to get wasted and do things they normally wouldn't do back home. I think Vegas is much the same. Nobody (I mean that sort of lightly because it's not literallyeveryone) goes to Vegas to be a responsible adult. Casinos, boobs, booze, and clubbing. Some shows. A general suspension of reality. Like locals here in Nola, my guess is Vegas locals and adults can handle it. Transplants with "new" money? Good luck lol

I'm hoping for Harbaugh, Kellen Moore, or even Eric Bienemy honestly. How bad can he be.

He has interviewed with like 9 teams over the last two offseasons and hasn't been hired. Andy Reid had elite offenses before Bienemy worked for him and IIRC Reid is the play caller. Would be similar to hiring a Patriots assistant and hoping they can bring Bill's mindset to the team, which never happens.
