People are acting like he called it to preserve time. He called it just to set the defense based on the look the offense gave. Happens all the time, not sure why people aren't comprehending that. Their main strategy was to avoid a turnover/game killing play and the safest way to do that is run it up the gut. If the Chargers break off that run before the timeout you think they are letting the clock run out? Certainly seems that if they were in range they were attempting the FG.
