And the teams these guys run that you talk about and fire GM's and coaches all the time they are the success stories of the NFL righttttttttttttt? While Murphy has his warts, firing a coach every time there is a down turn is just stupid. A larger number of factors must be considered. Thank the maker you only get to run your keyboard.

They demand success which is what this organization should do.  Matt LaFleur allows mediocre coaching assistants like Joe Barry to stay around, and he won't fire him despite his awful coaching.  And Gute has been a bigger disaster than Matt Millen was in Detroit, and Mark Murphy thinks it's all good.  Enough is enough, it's time to do away with this overrated patient approach which does nothing, and throw out hacks and boobs immediately.

Gute and Barry need to go. Gute was handed a dream job and slammed the door shut with numerous idiotic moves. Should have traded Rodgers last year if the idea was to go into the season with lazard as our one and some rookies. His horrific ability to take TEs in the 3rd,

Takes a much worse center to be cute and gives the chiefs a top center in the league. Horrific Love pick followed by AJ Dillon. Picks up the 5th year on Savage who clearly sucks. Jaire trade was brilliant and getting Gary was his next best move. Aside from a couple lineman he's drafted like ****.

When you take into account being given a contender and his pathetic 2020 draft if we had an owner that gets denied. Tell Jerry Jones you're taking a back up QB and RB a game away from the Superbowl the season before and they'd have an aneurysm and fire the GM.

We forever needed a weapon next to Adams and he failed year after year until he left and we were left with nothing.

The receipts for many of you clowns going into the year talking about it just being more opportunities and guys like lazard were ready to be a number one shows how blind you are. MVS sucked but he's at least fast. Lazard just flat out is JAG on a lower tier than MVS. Which is hilarious because so many of you idiots said Rodgers was holding back mvs and that he'd shine with mahomes.

If gute finds a single weapon for the years he has to pair next to Adams we would have won it all. That's TE or WR but the guy is an idiot that is in over his head. Can't draft or sign any weapons until it's obviously too late.

To call him average is a lie. He hit on a few lineman that we always do but when it came to filling needs on a contender he failed miserably.

What happens if Murphy and LeFleur wanted to keep Rodgers around and drove the decision. It would be one thing IF Gute was the one that was driving force in keeping Rodgers around but if your BOSS (Murphy) comes out in public and says we need to keep him. Many people even on this website were saying that the Packers needed to do whatever they had to do to keep him including money, decision making, ect. As was pointed out then, Rodgers was the MVP of the league and Love is untested. 20-20 hindsight is great and the front office made what now looks like a poor decision, but they made it as a group.

I'm not sure we know yet if Love is a horrific pick.  The jury is still out on that. If he takes over next year and does great I think you and others may reevaluate the pick.  Having "that guy" even if you waited a year or two longer than you thought is better than looking for "that guy".

Overall, I think Gute's drafts are not really better nor worse than a lot of GM's out there.  And despite how tight we are against the cap each year, he has done a relatively good job of bringing in cheap free agents who do pretty well in Green Bay.

My own sense on Rodgers was that it was Murphy who made the final decision to keep Rodgers, probably with the consultation of the others. It would be nice to know what really happened behind closed doors at 1265, but we don't. We can assume some things, but sometimes the truth is a little different than how it looked at that time.

I do think though that this is the year, Gute has to talk to Rodgers and say to him if he wants to come back "we are ready to move on" or at least "you will have to compete for the starting job with Love".

Gute was handed a dream job? A declining QB(at the time) with a HC who's time in the NFL has passed him by?

Gute isn't without faults, but you guys are delusional if you think he's a terrible GM. He's hit home runs in free agency and has been above average in the draft with the draft capital he's had to work with.
