Ok, I was wrong for thinking Fields could be someone Chicago could build around… he needs a change of scenery in a bad way, and even that might not be enough; He might entertain a position switch at this point, he’s simply not a good QB.

yep.. it looks like it.. I am in the same boat.

Besides my Bengals I was mostly looking forward to Fields and CJ (yes I am a Buckeye Homer)

Fields has been disappointing to say the least.

Justin Fields for Zach Wilson straight up.

Who says no to that trade?

I think Fields still has a chance. Wilson is done however. But I don’t see Fields ever being a top 15 QB. Probably will be in that 22-32 range because of his limitations as a passer. But his legs will always make him dangerous and should potentially keep the Bears in games if he was used correctly. Bienemy would’ve been great for Fields.

Fields is a prime example of fantasy football influencing the outlook of casual fans and talking heads. The Fields MVP talk was laughable. I've never seen in all my years watching football a QB who leads their team to the worst record in the league be hyped so much the following off-season.

If the Bears stick with Fields, they need to hire Greg Roman and run an offense similar to the Niners with Kaepernick and Ravens with Lamar.

I saw someone on Twitter ask who the hell was giving him MVP odds, and the proof was just 2 places:

  1. Vegas bettors, and
  2. Fantasy football analysts

The 2nd probably influencing the 1st. You are absolutely100% right that anyone who predicted he'd be in the MVP talk is delusional, and even fantasy football people should've known that his numbers in fantasy were just that - fantasy. He was still an awful passer who showed no signs of improvement and his fantasy numbers were nearly all from rushing production.

Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody with 2 working eyeballs and at least 1 minute watching an actual Bears game thought Fields would be an MVP candidate.

I get he’s saying he won’t be in the conversation cause the Bears will be bad but him saying he’ll be playing at an MVP level is still very bad.

I have no idea why people were wanting to build around him in the off-season when he was just as terrible last year! He just put up okay fantasy numbers from running the ball.

The Bears were trying to Punt to the 2024 draft class I think TBH.

It's also a recency trends thing.

LaMar Jackson... and even more recently Jalen Hurts, people automatically think "Oh Fields will do this too"

Same thing happened with Joe Burrow and then Kenny Pickett following up on that when they're just not the same caliber of players.

Yes, he's not a good QB.  He is athletic so what position could he play instead?  RB?  WR?
