vikesfan89
Interestingly Beebe was the holder for kicks today apparently. Its nice that they picked a longsnapper early Edited August 12, 2019 by vikesfan89
skywindO2
A new kicker is nice but not sure we need a punter. We aren't punting this year.

Its not a big loss. We'll likely get 4 compensatory picks this year anyways. I like the move. Now just trade Treadwell!

It’s 100% believe it’s because of Diggs being selected in the 5th round. im still not a fan of using picks on kickers and punters in most situations, but I also just want this fixed, so I don’t really care at this point. No doubt. I’m not a fan of drafting specialists, either, but the Ravens have a pretty good track record of scouting kickers. That makes me feel better about this move.
skywindO2
I think basically paying 2 5ths for a kicker kind of stings a bit, and then there was that Jeff Locke debacle. Recent history says football players that actually touch the ball with their feet and 5th rounders don't get along.

He's looked great in preseason action, and if he were to win both the punting and kicking jobs, he'd be a fantastic value.

But if this guy can stabilize the kicking game and is truly as talented as suggested, I don't think anyone will complain about the trade. Especially Zimmer, who's yet to find a good long term kicking solution.
