ny92mike
Any of the heads available to jump in the workbook and discuss a couple things? Could really use some extra eyes on this. I feel like I'm getting my *** kicked with matching this information for it to successfully automate. Will try to explain this as best I can. I have two sheets, one that contains the hyperlinks that direct you to the individual player's contract page...ie PLAYER POS Concatenate A.J. Bouye CB A.J. Bouye - CB A.J. Klein OLB A.J. Klein - OLB A.J. McCarron QB A.J. McCarron - QB The other sheet, actually sheets are the tables from spotrac that update each hour. One for Active Rosters, Free Agents and IR. I use the concatenate column above as the identifier to match the player information in the automated three sheets. Which works great until the first sheet list a position that does not match the automated sheets. By changing position titles on all of the sheets from the 5 offensive line positions to OL and the secondary positions SS, S, FS to S as well as DE and DT to DL I uncovered 45 names that were previously showing up as inactive that are now showing the correct information. The list of names include. Alex Cappa - G Andrew Wylie - G B.J. Hill - DE Caleb Benenoch - G Chad Wheeler - RT Damontae Kazee - SS Darian Stewart - SS Denico Autry - DT Foyesade Oluokun - ILB Graham Glasgow - C Hassan Ridgeway - DT Jabrill Peppers - SS Jeff Heath - SS Jessie Bates III - FS Joe Looney - C Joel Bitonio - G Jordan Whitehead - SS Justin Simmons - FS Kyle Fuller - C Lawrence Guy - DT Le'Raven Clark - LT Malik Hooker - FS Michael Brockers - DE Mike Remmers - G Nathan Shepherd - DE Rayshawn Jenkins - FS Sam Tevi - RT Stefen Wisniewski - G Taylor Moton - RT Tedric Thompson - FS Terrell Edmunds - SS Walt Aikens - SS Xavier Woods - FS Daniel Sorensen - FS Joe Haeg - RT Brandon Shell - RT Jaquiski Tartt - SS Justin Evans - FS Keanu Neal - FS Kenny Clark - DT Robert Nkemdiche - DT Rodney McLeod - SS Montae Nicholson - SS Chris Jones - DE Michael Bennett - DE However, some of the names are duplicated when I do this, for example Michael Bennett and Chris Jones have matching names that play on different positions on the DL. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't type of situation. Pull your hair out and kick the dog kinda frustrating. The list of errors are so small compared to the amount that it's getting right, it wouldn't be right to can the idea of not using this automation. I'm pretty decent with excel but sometimes it simply takes a second set of eyes looking at it to come up with a solution. For example, Ted was able to work out a formula for getting the clock to work allowing us to move forward with the shark tank, when I had been racking my brain on it for weeks and it was a simple fix. My fear is that once the new season rolls around, we're going to see a lot more changes are some players move back to their original position, some teams change defensive schemes, etc. That we'll need to go in and manually fix some of these things as the season progresses. I'm probably being too hard on myself with this trying to make it 100% automated where 100% simply isn't achievable and I'm also starting to stress that I'm running out of time to get this ready. In fact, I am freaking out a bit on this. @Ragnarok @Jlash @MD4L @pheltzbahr @Hockey5djh @RuskieTitan @Counselor @WFLukic @Whicker @SwoleXmad @bcb1213 @TedLavie @SirA1 @DingoLadd @PR
Ragnarok
Honestly, if we can get it close, that's more than we could have asked for. We can do some manually. Don't stress yourself at all.

No man...I wish Spotrac list the player info when linked brings the info as such for active rosters. Which sucks because it list their last name twice but I can workaround that no problem. SirA1 is going to hook up the BDL positions, so that will be out of sorts for a bit but outside of that and a couple little things this beast is just about ready to make the switch. Ragnarok
I took SirA's draft list and condensed it a bit for anyone else doing mocks so they can copy-paste.
