Then they enter the league as the 33rd NFL team. How long until they are going 14-2 and winning Superbowls? I like this for a thread...I think he can find a QB he will have 3 picks to find one
jebrick
They did play from 1934 to 1976 but they played the NFL champions. They won 9 of those games. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_College_All-Star_Game Quote The Chicago Charities College All-Star Game was a preseason American football game played from 1934 to 1976 between the National Football League (NFL) champions and a team of star college seniors from the previous year. It was also known as the College All-Star Football Classic.[1] The game was contested annually — except for 1974, due to that year's NFL strike — and was played in July, August, or September. The second game, played in 1935, involved the hometown Chicago Bears, runner-up of the 1934 season, instead of the defending champion New York Giants. The New York Jets played in the 1969 edition, although still an American Football League (AFL) team, as once the AFL-NFL Championship was introduced (including for the two seasons before the "Super Bowl" designation was officially adopted and the remaining two seasons before the AFL–NFL merger) the Super Bowl winner was the professional team involved, regardless of which league the team represented. AlexGreen#20
This was a terrible draft class for offensive lineman, edge rushers, and receivers. +++ The 2013 draft that was really good would give you a lineup of (and I probably missed somebody) QB: Mike Glennon (below average starter as a rookie) RB: Leveon Bell (average starter as a rookie) WR: Nuk Hopkins (average starter as a rookie) WR: Keenan Allen (above average starter as a rookie) WR: Robert Woods (below average starter as a rookie) TE: Travis Kelce (Placed on IR as a rookie, above average starter as a sophoore) LT: David Bakhtiari (average starter as a rookie) LG: Kyle Long (above average starter as a rookie) C: Travis Frederick (above average starter as a rookie) RG: Larry Warford (above average starter as a rookie) RT: Lane Johnson (below average starter as a rookie) ++ RE: Ziggy Ansah (average starter as a rookie) NT: Brandon Williams (average starter as a rookie) UT: Kawann Short (below average starter as a rookie) LE: Sheldon Richardson (below average starter as a rookie) ILB: Jamie Collins (below average starter as a rookie) ILB: Kiko Alonso (above average starter as a rookie) CB: Darius Slay (Bouye didn't play as a rookie, Slay was an average starter) CB: Xavier Rhodes (average starter as a rookie) CB: Desmond Trufant (average starter as a rookie) FS: Tyrann Mathieu (average starter as a rookie SS: Eric Reid (below average starter as a rookie) I think that team beats the Browns this year. There's a chance that at least 10 of these names will be out of the NFL in five years. We talking about the draft class or Cleveland’s roster? Because same. RandyMossIsBoss
Better question than the Bama debate since we are now dealing strictly with NFL talent. However, I'd still say no and here's why: the NFL is simply a massive step up from the college ranks in every way imaginable. Everyone is faster, stronger, bigger, and the schemes are far more complex. Being a 1st/2nd/3rd round pick doesn't make you a good NFL player, it just means you have been identified as having what it takes to become that. There's still undoubtedly a learning process and adjustment every guy has to go through. About half make the transition smoothly and are able to be quality contributors by week 1 of the regular season, the other half are not ready and either stockpiled or routinely embarrassed. I assume, out of fairness, we will pretend this prospect all-star team gets assembled in April and gets to go through the same offseason and preseason that the 2017 Browns went through, to at least give them some cohesion as a team. From there I would say one would really have to draw up an actual lineup of what is all star team looks at before we can really say one way or another who would win, but if I had to guess right now, I would still say the Browns win pretty handily due to their experience, and likely at worst equal talent. BayRaider
With a all star NFL Coaching Staff they could get a few games. At least one.
BleedTheClock
No. The Browns are an assembly of high draft picks. And they have the luxury of being much older physically and mentally. The Browns would slaughter college players. As would any of the worst teams in NFL history. I want this to happen just one time so that people can stop bringing up these idiotic arguments. Broncofan
As long as Hue Jackson is the CLE HC never count out their ability to lose. On talent alone that was a 3W team. Hue has a WAR of -4-5 as a coach.
Ryan_W
yes I think an expansion team would beat the Browns on their first game. it doesn't even have to be like the Vegas Knights
