Season 2 (Colin Farrell/Vince Vaughn) was possibly the worst thing I’ve ever seen on TV - perhaps you’re talking about Season 1 (Harrelson/McConaughey)? I was SO excited by S2… and equally as let down by S2, so I’m cautiously optimistic at best. Adding Jodie Foster - who is just as skilled at creating a story as she is acting it out - could make sure this effort is closer to S1 than S2. Foster’s landmark role was as Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs, which is spiritually similar to True Detective - so if she brings that same energy (as well as gets a counterpart that’s as incredible as Sir Anthony Hopkins) this show will be better than S2 and S3, IMO. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
