Thelonebillsfan
A lifetime of extremely niche, but necessary to function surgeries is a very, very expensive lifetime btw. Money doesn't buy you a body where it doesn't hurt to walk at 35.
Golfman
What Andrew Luck did took courage. I give him a ton of credit for realizing his live in 20, 30, 40 years is far more important than trying to chase a few more million and maybe a Super Bowl. Best of Luck to him! Pun intended!
Thelonebillsfan
I'm gonna predict that we read a news story about Watson doing this in the next 5 years barring the Texans getting him some significant protection upgrades. Or a story in the next 10 about how hard it is for him to walk.
JaguarCrazy2832
I never thought he’d retire now but i was very concerned that he’d sit the season like 2017. Really hope he lives a good and painfree life

Quick aside - Tytus Howard is a LG. Not a LT. He can kick outside and play LT, but I think the long term play is he's going to play G. The Texans did do the next best thing in bringing in QB coach Carl Smith to the fold - if you can't trade for Duane Brown, then bring in the guy who helped Wilson develop...
Calamity_Cometh
I just hope that IF it is because of pain, that it isn't permanent. These guys take multiple car crashes worth of damage every year.

RabidPanther89
Smart move on his part. It is at the end of the day its just a game, a brutal one at that which can cripple you in so many ways. He got to play QB in the NFL, that's a milestone by itself. Dude is set for life.
bzane
Well! At least there's a silver lining: the Colts may have lost Andrew Luck, but they still have Jim Irsay!!

Last year I was offered Conner, Juju, Kittle in week 3 for Bell and Hopkins

Breida has too much ahead of him with Coleman there now.

I also had no TE's (I was starting Jesse James). One guy in my league got hit hard by this. Had Manning retire on him, replaced him with Flacco, then when Flacco went out he traded Josh Allen/Evan Engram/Brandon Cooks for Luck and Baldwin. Elky
Josh McDaniels is a villain for backing out coaching Indy, but Luck gets a pass for retiring like a week before the season opener?

A bit different when you're putting your body on the line on a weekly basis and suffering from constant injuries. Plus at least Andrew Luck contributed to the Colts.
