That team had low expectations and likely only didn’t move on from him because of the Covid-19 offseason. Them continuing to suck isn’t likely to cost the GM his job. He’ll be judged by his next coaching hire and success (or lack thereof) of it after said hire... along with the development of his draft classes. So firing him would simply lower your chances at the top pick, which you don’t want. Unless Gase is compromising player safety (or theJets have locked up the top pick) than he's unlikely to get fired until probably the last few weeks of the season.
