I'd imagine the goal here is for him to stay long-term as well with Judon leaving after this year. Probably means we have no money or draft capital left to make a move for a wideout at the trade deadline - which I continue to believe is a huge huge need - but this could be a transformative move for the defense. Worst case Yannick walks for a 3rd round comp pick, so the cost is very low. They 100% will try to lock him up and let Judon walk though.
