they said "predictable", not "justified" or "obvious" though...

Im not saying it was smart lol

Ok let me rephrase... maybe writers throughout Philly predicted Doug's firing in post season articles but they were still surprised they did it.

for the record, I am playing devil's advocate here.

To add to all this...justified or not, the Eagles just fired a head coach three years after he won the Super Bowl.

So coaches seeking some job security will be hesitant taking a job there, too lol.

As they should be. This will be the 2nd time in less then 6 years where the HC and GM were in a Power struggle for control.  HC, lost both times. GL to any and all who apply.

Trust me when I say most people on here probably don't know anything about the Eagles unless they paid close attention like maybe someone like @BlaqOptic.

There will be a lot of misinformation.

Well @TheRealMcCoy you weren't wrong. These people don't know a single thing about our team lol. This couldn't be further from reality.

Old Man Gore... love the player. Probably should focus on his grandkids though at this point.

Isnt his son about to be in the NFL?

Roseman is pretty clearly a huge part of the issue. Laurie probably needs to be GM shopping.

Gotta be one of the least appealing jobs on the market.

Honestly, probably one of the worst.

Bad cap situation, aged roster, meddlesome GM, no real franchise cornerstones on either side of the ball going forward, a generally toxic environment, an absolutely toxic QB with (apparently) a good deal of sway.

I'm far from a Pederson fan, and it's clear in hindsight that Reich's impact was immeasurable. And Pederson clearly made some mistakes (though if Sudfeld came in and led a comeback, which isn't unheard of in the NFL, I feel like this conversation might not be happening). Outside of like Fletcher Cox, virtually nobody on that roster has any credibility to throwing a coach under the bus. Pederson may not have been a solid leader, but seeing players who aren't exactly the Brady's or Gore's or other highly regarded vets sounding off is a terrible look for the team. To me, it screams diva mentality and unrealistic expectations.

I get why Reid was let go after so many years. That's normal. But since him, wow. I totally understand Chip Kelly is difficult, but going 10-6 back to back before a down year and getting canned can only be explained as "coach's fault" so many times. For Pederson, his record wasn't as good as Chip's, but he helped bring the Superbowl. A couple lackluster years and then a total dumpster fire "again"? Without massive structural changes, I wouldn't want the job if I had any designs on longevity.

Wentz could be traded as well.

I mean, they have a lot of long term vets that were probowl/all pro that could chime in. Even if they are over the hill now.

Roseman needs to go. He let that roster get old as dirt. And he "kicked the can" so many times that its going to take massive roster changes now.
