Week 15 Covid List Discussion

FWIW, this answer from DET's HC Dan Campbell highlights a point I was making yesterday - the new criteria won't likely change the outcome for most players who test positive.  For most players, it takes 7+ days to get 2 negative tests on separate days - with the revised criteria, it's still most likely to need 6+ days (maybe 5 if the threshold of positivity changed for transmission risk and return to playing).

For this reason alone, if the enhanced measures that teams and the league institute aren't enough to stem the tide - I expect that the league will change the criteria again to enable a faster return to play after positive tests with vaxxed individuals.     And yes, @wwhickok is correct - the primary driver is the league's desire to keep games being played on time, on schedule - to lock in their irreplaceable value of certainty for the TV $.    They're just doing it trying to keep the appearance of doing it safely - but it's all about getting games in, the show must go on.

For this week - don't expect many, if any players who suddenly are able to return.   There are the odd few who will test negative in time, but most likely it still results in a 1 missed game.

So....not to absolve or indict any individual but....

There are clearly a lot of unvaccinated players/coaches around the league.

How long before we think the league starts taking tougher measures? Or do we think they even will after the precedent set with a few people already?

If anything,  the vaccinated players should be following the same protocols
