Runningbacks don't really matter and GB already has one very good one on a virtual league minimum contract and another wholly competent one on a virtually league minimum contract. That would be a massive waste of resources.

Why would Bell take that offer after he turned down an offer from the Steelers was worth a total of $70 million over five years (or $14 million per season)? Someone's going to pay him more than that and his asking price is reportedly 17 million per. Not saying he'll get that, but he will get more than $9 million per I just want to draft another RB. MacReady
I don't want Bell. Yeah, I'd sign him for less than 8 million per, but over that and he's not worth the headache. I'd rather sign Murray, Martin, Ingram or half a dozen other running backs who will cost a quarter of the amount Bell will.

He's a stud receiver .. our offense would be very hard to contain with both he and Adams out there. even at 30 he still had 1300 yds receiving and 15 td's in 15 games. He's a bit of a nut, but armed with a new deal and a new team he should be fine. MVS and ESB can wait their turn, or pick their performance up to a point where they force their way into that #2 and #3 role. All that said though .. the contract has to be right .. got to be able to get out of it if Brown becomes unmanageable, or MVS and ESB make him expendable. ChaRisMa
Brown wants guaranteed money. If it was trading for only his existing contract, it would be very easy to cut him. He wants to get another signing bonus NOW though. So, no, AB and his agent are universally getting laughed at right now, as all they are doing is showcasing that the moment you trade for him he will be a headache off the bat because you have to commit to him long term. So now you’ve tied your franchise up in a guy who has issues.
MaximusGluteus
Huge no on bell. You can draft good running backs in the middle rounds that can do everything you need them to do and they don't cost much. Even if we were one player away from a Super Bowl, I don't think Bell would be that player.

You'd have to put behavioral clauses in that deal or something that gives you an out if he starts acting the fool. I think he's going to tear it up on the field like he always does, but it's a gamble.

Let's say it ranges from a 4th up to a 1st if Brown is an All Pro and we win the SB (Favre had similar escalators in his deal with the NYJ). If Brown doesn't report to camp the 2020 pick is waived. Then I tell Brown, your deal is what we're going to pay you. You want to put up huge numbers with AR12, compete for a ring and solidify your case as a HOF top 5 WR of all time? we'll see you at camp. If you want a guaranteed deal, we're going to cut you and you can sign with a bottom feeder who'll use you for ticket sales until you're old and forgotten. Worth the gamble on the 6th, big question is would Pitt accept a potentially greater draft pick payoff in 2020 for our security of Brown not being a head case? Otherwise they'll get a 3-4 rounder this year from a bad team that will pay a guy to sell tickets, (Miami, ARI, NYJ, Buf) paying Brown would be dumb.
Sasquatch
Bell messed up last year, IMO. Prior to that, he was literally touching the ball an average of 37 times a game, and making a huge impact on Pitt's offense in running, catching, and blocking. The guy can do it all and well. Not sure who's to blame over in Steeler land for Bell and Brown honestly. Is it just a coincidence that two of the league's most potent weapons just both happen to be greedy divas? Is it Tomlin? Something else....too much mercury in steel town's water or something? Time will tell once both Bell and Brown land somewhere else and we all have a chance to see if they're still as great as they once were. I'm sure this is gonna be viewed as genius by every team other than the Steelers. They've seen it first hand, they're the one team unlikely to take a risk on Brown not being a head case

Bell called their bluff. Then the Steelers called Bell's bluff. Both sides lost immensely in this.
