What does everyone do for a living?

I’m a Card Dealer myself, do pretty well with it and a pretty fun job for the most part. As every job, gets repetitive though. Been in the casino industry for neary a decade now(almost 30 smh).

I’m debating going back to school to be a Physician Assissant or Nurse Practitioner (basically same job, same salary, different title). They are in the Top 10 salaries in the country and in the Top 10 projected growth rate. Too late for me to go to school to be a doctor, PA/NP is basically half the school, six years vs twelve years and a PA/NP can do anything a doctor can do except some certain procedures and can have their own paitients in most states.

Obv I know this forum has a wide age range, sure some of you are Students and some may even be retired. Perhaps we can all learn from one another in this thread. Perhaps state your career and advice for everyone who is going into that field. With some Pros and Cons as well.

Oh hello sir. Advice on how hard it was to get a BSN (if you have one), would you ever be interested in being a NP, and which route would you take, majoring in Biology for Bachelors and trying to get into a PA masters program or doing BSN and doing masters program for NP. If you don’t know anything about PA/NP stuff feel free not to comment.

I know a bit, plenty of friends have done it.

As far as the undergrad work, schooling is different for everyone so it’s hard to answer. I retain info pretty well from lectures and didn’t need to study much, so it wasn’t bad for me.  Others don’t and had a much harder go of it.  NCLEX the same.

If I were you I’d get some experience in healthcare before jumping into an NP/PA program, it’s not for everyone. Job shadowing, experience as a nurse aid, etc.

As far as the graduate programs, I never was really interested in either tbh.  The only bit that interested me at all was CRNA, but it’s a competitive and challenging program and I honestly am not interested in it enough. Someone else would prolly be better to ask as far as some of that goes.

Carpenter. I run my own little group, sub out to a few guys I have really good relationships with for concrete, electrical and plumbing (they honestly do it better for less than I can, so it helps my bid too), they refer me for actual building.

Working on my MBA now though. Not sure if I will try to get out and sell my business and tools or if I will try to go commercial. Hell I might even just be a dashboard carpenter and promote up one of my guys as I get out of it. IDK.

Winters and trying to keep 3 other families fed during winter are getting damn old. Keeping work going through winter months is more stressful than any actual job I do.

Sr. Manager of Vendor Relations for a software company.

My current company used to be a client of mine for my previous company. Now, I'm the primary contact between my old company and my new company.

It's nice knowing the inner workings of a business partner...
