2019 Offseason Trade Rumors & Free Agency Thread

resilient part 2

Zach Lowe brought up a good point for those that say the Heat make sense for Westbrook. Why would they trade him there when they want the Heat to suck as much as they could since they have two of their unprotected 1st rounders in the upcoming years?

So if the Rockets somehow workout a three team deal, who will take on CP3's contract? Rockets at least could just attach their future 1st rounders that they still have, but don't see how they move CP3's contract… Unless the plan is to keep CP3?

Trying to put together deals, just 2 teams tho, for Westbrook.

Chicago: Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, Cristiano Felicio, Denzel Valentine and picks
Dallas: Tim Hardaway Jr, Courtney Lee, Justin Jackson, Jalen Brunson and picks
Detroit: Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, Thon Maker, Langston Galloway, Sekou Doumbouya and picks
Miami: Goran Dragic, Justise Winslow, Tyler Herro and picks
Minnesota: Andrew Wiggins, Robert Covington and picks
Orlando: Evan Fournier, Markelle Fultz, Mo Bamba, DJ Augustin and picks (can't wait for @dtait93 and @FinneasGage to see this one)
Phoenix: Tyler Johnson, Kyle Korver, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and picks
San Antonio: DeMar DeRozan, Patty Mills and picks
Toronto: Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and picks (or they could simply swap Lowry and Westbrook as a cap relief thing for the Thunder)

Keep in mind all these deals likely come with restrictions due to recent trades and draft pick signings so they'd be processed down the line.

Also didn't do Houston as it would almost assuredly be a 3 team deal with CP3 going elsewhere.

haha, I was just putting up conceivable deals to see what the Russ market might look like.

Didn't do New York because they'd have to wait til middle December to make a trade for Russ due to all their contracts being freshly signed.

Golden State was literally the exception.  They had SO much shooting it isn't even comparable.  They had 3 of probably the top 10 best shooters in the NBA.  Cleveland won when the Clippers "threw" the series to get KD.  And Toronto beat a hobbled Warriors team.  None of them are really accurate.

And it's not flat out better.  Beverley is better than Rondo, specifically his 3PT shooting.  But the rest of the starting lineup outside of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard isn't very good.  Landry Shamet is by far the worst of the 10 starters.  And Zubac isn't very good.  McGee outproduced Zubac last year.  Fact.  And that was even after McGee fell off the face of the earth with his pneumonia.

Shamet is so much better than Rondo it's not even funny.

McGee barely outproduced Zubac, and Zubac is still getting better.

There is no point of even comparing the teams until we see what the Lakers have in Cousins. If he gets back healthy and close to form? Obviously that changes a lot of things. But as of right now there is no need to over think it as the Clippers are better. Doesn't mean the Lakers can't beat them in the playoffs or anything because they can.

A bit off topic, but guess PG is missing at least the first few weeks of the season. May take him until end of November to really get back in rhythm and form.
