I mean they didnt have Landry that hurt

Unpopular opinion incoming: at this point Landry sucks. He's a #3 and that's it. Not having him had not been the problem. He does nothing for this offense.

but there was a hole lot of joy coming out of TC/Preseaon about what DPJ/Felton/Schwartz could bring to the table. None of that has happened so far because none of them despite their speed can get consistent separation

That was pretty unreasonable expectations, though, for two later-round rookies and a second-year later-round rookie. I believe DPJ can be a #2 in this league and that the other two have loads of potential, but expectations this season were a bit much. We really have nothing at receiver and barely anything at tight end. I'm okay bringing back Njoku for a mid-tier contract but expect someone to overpay him, like 4/$36mil, and I hope we don't give him that.

Its not just Stefanski blowing leads by coaching scared, but the whole coaching staff. That last offensive drive from yesterday is a living proof of it.

The last defensive "stand", too.

Something way more wrong than just talent or lack thereof when you cannot comeback at the end of a game to win when you're down, and can't shut the other team down for a win when you are up.

Think Stefanski is a big part of the first scenario, and know that Woods is a bigger part of the second.

Defense stopped Baltimore last week.

They forced an interception this week. You’re asking a lot to stop them twice in a row when the offense did nothing to give them a breather.

This has been a problem since Bakers rookie year. I’m not sure if it’s a WR problem or not.

However, when we need our offense to make a big play to will this team to victory and make a comeback, they can’t do it. It’s only happened once against Cincinnati last year.

Barely, and after letting them within a Tucker FG for the win after having been up 24-6.

The interception has little to do with the scheme.

I am not blaming the players on the D.

I am blaming Woods and his obsession with soft coverage that allows teams to march on us almost at will when we are ahead.

This was the other part of my rant.

I often disagree with the play calls in situations like this.

But I think it is at least as much on Mayfield.

And I will point you to the post that Bruno put on the last page of the Baker thread...Baker has continually put us in positions to win it in the 4th with the exception of 1 game. Of those times he has, others (or the defense) have been the point of failure except for the KC game where he was tripped up and threw an INT.

He is not the best QB by any means but trying to pin so much on him is nonsense.

Year 2 of being a head coach. He is going to learn and grow from the mistakes he makes. late in games, playing the clock rather than playing to move the chains has been the most critical error. do what it takes to get the first down and close out the game. i dont care how good our defense is, the goal should be to keep them off the field.

Wrong in a game where 1 additional

Reception could have us in 1st place

That is the weakest argument you have ever made.

Our entire offense should be forfeiting their checks to the defense this season:

Bears, 6 pts

Vikings, 7 pts

Broncos, 14 pts

Steelers, 15 pts

Bengals, 16 pts

Lions, 10 pts

Ravens, 16 pts

Ravens, 22 pts (16 if the refs throw a flag for their onside kick)

Raiders, 16 pts

Then the bad ones:

Texans 21, Chiefs 33, Chargers 47 pts, Cardinals 37 pts, Patriots 45

With just a slightly average offense we’re 10-4.

Don't forget we were 3 wins 1 loss to start

The season

2nd point we beat Baltimore for the first time.

3rd point Chubb did a disappearing act against Baltimore this was Mayfield signature win.

Prediction this board will still be against signing him.

I’m still trying to figure out how this is DPI. There’s always some weird officiating against the Raiders.  Remember the 1st down that they overturned in 18?

Just a terrible call. I suppose a referee just threw a flag for what he believed happened instead of throwing one for what he saw. That really needs to get corrected. It is better to miss 20 penalties because you didn't see exactly what happened than to call one that you didn't actually see but you think it may have been.

I’m on record for getting rid of the under thrown / back shoulder DPI. Quit bailing out QBs for bad passes.
