Ha, I know it's a terrible name. It's Topo Chico, tequila, and lime

Need to try this. I had a little run last summer drinking whiskey highballs using Topo Chico. Hard to go wrong when Topo Chico is involved.

I'm typically a rum and coke sort of guy. Decided to try some Kentucky Bourbon tonight.. wowza 😜

What kind? Bourbon is the best whiskey IMO.

Of course, I’m basic, so my favorite is Woodford Reserve.

Jim Bean. The wife bought some to glaze a ham. So figured I'd give it a try. Straight on the rocks... total fire down the throat.

I actually like Beam for making cocktails. For cheap mainstream brands, it’s solid.

But yeah, I would not recommend it as a sipper.

Haven't posted in TASTY in years, so this may have been covered, but who's ready for (or already drinking them like me) Ranch Water weather?

I just discovered this stuff while we went to a Minor League baseball game.

It's now in my fridge, good stuff.

Woodford is great. I'm a Basil Hayden guy, but I'll never turn down Woodford.

See, I haven't shopped around that much in the super premium bourbons.  Hard to justify spending 60-90 bucks on a bottle I may not like all that much when I drink so little liquor.

Plus my liquor consumption is about 90% gin anyway.  The other 10% is half bourbon, half everything else.

Thoughts on Tom Collins? Pretty much the only gin drink I like.

A Tom Collins is a great drink, but I think it's more for parties, since it's easier to make a pitcher of than a single glass.  Although I'm not a fan of maraschino cherries, so I always leave those out.

My go to drinks are martinis and gin and tonics though.  A Gordon's cup is also a fine drink, especially in the summer.

What kind are you using? Luxardo is the best way to do it. You’re going to pay a lot more that you think you should for cherries, but it makes a drink a lot better.

There are so many good gin drinks out there that people haven’t explored. Simple things like a Bee’s Knees, or a French 75 are great and easy to make. If you have a stocked bar go for things like an Aviation, Last Word, Martinez, Bijou, Negroni, or a Bronx. Make sure to use tonic syrup instead of water if you’re going for a gin and tonic.
