He had a good season nothing spectacular, but now has to go into a FA class that is honestly really good and draft class that is on par with last years. Maybe for him a one year 7-8 million dollar contract is better so he can enter FA again and build a better resume and show that consistency his career has lacked. I’ll welcome him back but just has to be at the right number 8 mil seems to be the sweet spot I've been seeing. As you say, he still has time to chase a bigger contract if he proves 2020 wasn't a fluke. I like that he got vocal about the lack of accountability too, as it shows he's a competitor that actually cares. Another good year, he sheds any talk about fluke seasons and journeyman status. And I get the feeling that actually means something to him.

If you can draft them then thats fine but they look like post draft cuts more then free agents cuts Backup RBs aren't terribly difficult to come by though. Resign Booker, I think he's earned it. Use a later round pick on a Kylin Hill/Jermar Jefferson/Jaret Patterson. Honestly probably an upgrade from Richard. S is going to be a target in FA and/or the draft. We need a starting safety more than a 3rd guy. Heck, Tedric Thompson and Shalom Luani are apparently available. Kick the tires there lol. In reality, there's going to be a few guys available who we could go after that represent an upgrade in depth anyway. I said not long ago that I actually like Heath, but just don't see him ever pushing Abram, which is needed. Maybe we could restructure his deal? I'm not a contract guy, so idk. If we let him go, though, I bet Tre Boston would come cheap. As 3rd down pash rush, I'm not terribly worried about Key. I think we're going to prioritize it in such a way that Crosby likely replaces Key, which indicates an upgrade in depth. I've seen some love for Jaelan Phillips around here. Possibly Kyle van Noy? Go bigger for a Judon mayhaps? Of the 3, the only one I could see being a bit tough to replace would be Heath. Richard and Key are just depth guys, and honestly pretty replaceable imo. Move them to make space for someone better that pushes current depth chart toppers down the pecking order.

When he was on the trade block last year I pounded the table for him. He’s really the ideal WR1 for us: big physical WR who doesn’t need a large volume of targets to be successful. That consecutive offense in Tennessee has held him back. sadly I don’t think we can afford him With all the other holes ok the team.

He went to school at USC to go along with the rumors. So Sd who already has Mike Williams and Keenan Allen at 15.6M each are going to get pay JJSS 14-16m or whatever he’ll cost? Unless they cut one MW or KA I can’t see how they afford JJSU. No team, even one with a rookie deal QB is going to spend 25% of their cap on 3 WRs. A while ago I did read that LAC could release Williams due to his 5th year option cost, but I highly doubt it. You don’t cut 27yo, 6’4 220 with good speed who’ve had a 1000yd season. The guys in like for a bit extension.

Hasn't been able to replicate his production since AB left. Pass. Can we sign some guys that play defense? How much help does Carr need. Juju, Nelly, Davis, none of these dudes are worth big contracts and we'll end up in another Tyrell Williams situation if we sign them to one. Let Edwards and Ruggs play like we drafted them too.

I liked trading a mid round pick for him while He was on a rookie deal But not paying him 13-15M. Id resign Nelly for up to 8M if only the first year is guaranteed. I’m not willing to bet the season on Ruggs and Edwards Health and development. 8M for an Insurance policy that should be able to give us similar if not better production is definitely worth it to be.
agarcia34
If Nelly leaves Ruggs takes his spot. They way they used Nelly this year is what I assumed how they wanted to use Ruggs and Nelly just stepped up. Either way a WR needs to be brought in, but time for Ruggs or Edwards to sink or swim. The lack of production from them two cant happen again in 2021. Two weeks away from all the fun beginning

Two weeks away from all the fun beginning Ruggs can be very dynamic but I also think it's good to have a vet around, especially a good one. You can never have enough weapons and injuries happen too. If we can sign impact defensive FA's and shore up the run blocking, we'll be more than fine though. Foster will also emerge next year IMO. StocktonSav
My preference would be to sign low cost options at WR to pair with Ruggs, Renfrow, and Edwards. Waller would remain the #1 target. Kendrick Bourne and Josh Reynolds would fit nicely imo. Save the cap space for the defense.

Agreed and got a feeling a lot of vets will get the cap boot and/or hold out only to get 1 year 3 mil prove it deals. I expect some serious bargains that aren't there yet but will be after the draft. Nelly at 8 or a vet WR at 3 (Tate), a vet FS at 3 (Hooker) and a vet DT at 3 (Short) sounds like a better 'team' to me and only costs a million more than just nelly. Could also spend all 8 on a LB like Van Noy or a DE that's slipped like Clowney.
